NHL Betting Predictions for Week 16: Best Games to Wager On this Weekend
This weekend, the NHL slate is busy on Saturday, and quiet on Sunday. But there are plenty of NHL Lines options on both days, with several value betting opportunities to look forward to on the ice. Here, we look at the top NHL betting options for a weekend that features games between playoff-caliber teams, along with some games where some of the lesser teams in the league may be worth betting on.
Betting Opportunities for the NHL Weekend Games | Week 16
Saturday: Golden Knights vs. Islanders
First, we look at an inter-conference matchup between the Vegas Golden Knights and New York Islanders. The Islanders are on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, while the Golden Knights are well within the postseason spots in the West. But the Islanders are in an advantageous position coming into this game that could make them worth betting on.
Vegas is on the second night of a back-to-back, playing in Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers the night before. That is a grueling two-day stretch for the Golden Knights, who have been incredible on the road on the year. It may be worth taking a look at the Islanders in this contest, as the odds should be pretty tight either way in what should be a good one on Long Island.
Saturday: Blue Jackets vs. Kraken
Another NHL game that could be worth betting on will take place in the Pacific Northwest, when the Columbus Blue Jackets face the Seattle Kraken. Columbus has been among the worst teams in the NHL this season, as they sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings this year. The Jackets will likely have another tough time in this game, as they play the second night of a back-to-back against the Kraken.
Instead of taking Seattle to win this game on the moneyline, it may be a better wager to either take the over or to lay the puckline with Seattle. Either way, you are banking on a superior Seattle team to light the lamp early and often against a bad Blue Jackets team that will be on no rest. This game will be far from the best game of the weekend, but could be the best bet of the weekend.
Sunday: Bruins vs. Hurricanes
Finally, the Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes are set to take part in one of the two NHL games on the Sunday schedule. This is a marquee matchup in every sense of the word, as these two teams are leading their respective divisions in the Eastern Conference. While the Bruins have the better record so far this season, there may be some value on the Hurricanes at home in this contest.
First, the Bruins will be on the second night of a back-to-back in this contest, after playing the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. Carolina also enters the weekend red hot, having won their last three games entering Friday’s action. Expect the Hurricanes to give the team with the highest point total in the league a real fight.
