The NHL Playoffs are a betting favorite, the pinnacle of hockey betting is the NHL Playoffs and what makes them the much more interesting for betting on, Each NHL series is played in a 2–2–1–1–1 format series price odds combined with the nature of the NHL home-ice advantage there is always value to be found.

NHL Playoffs are a 7 game series between 16 teams across the two Eastern and Western conferences, the higher ranked team starts off by playing the first two games at home, then the next 2 are home games for the lower teams, then the series will swing back and forth between cities for the final three games. This order is also used for the Stanley Cup Playoffs which is the last game which decides the NHL Stanley Cup winner each year.

2020 NHL Betting News & Rumors for Next Season

While the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Finals are all tied up at 1-1 and offering a ton of betting value in the MyBookie NHL sportsbook heading into this week’s Game 3 matchup, the rumors surrounding almost every team in the league are heating up in a big way. This fun-filled look at some of those rumors will both, inform and entertain NHL fans and betting enthusiasts everywhere. Let’s get started in the City of Brotherly Love where my hometown Philadelphia Flyers are looking to make some moves after being dispatched by the lower seeded New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference semis. With that in mind, let’s get right to it so you can start planning your bets for the next season against their NHL odds.

NHL Rumors Heating Up As 2020 Campaign Winds Down

City of Brotherly Shove!

Rumors are saying that the Flyers will try to move defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere and winger James van Riemsdyk in trades this offseason. Both players are signed through the 2022-23 season. Gostisbehere struggled mightily in scoring just 12 points in 42 games for the Flyers while spending some time in the AHL. van Riemsdyk and his $7 million a year contract, scored a meager 40 points in 66 games and will be more difficult to move because of his contract. Philadelphia also wants to re-sign backup net-minder Brian Elliott before the 35-year-old hits free agency.

New York State of Mind

Speaking of those feisty Islanders, New York will be looking to add an elite goal-scorer to their already blossoming young squad this offseason. Disgruntled Winnipeg Jets winger Patrik Laine is a possibility, as are New Jersey winger Kyle Palmieri, Panthers front-liner Mike Hoffman and Arizona Coyotes winger Taylor Hall.

See Ya Later Minneapolis

Minnesota Wild forward Mikko Koivu, the sixth overall pick in the 2001 NHL draft, won’t be back for the Wild in 2020-21 and could land in several destinations, including his homeland of Finland.

Cement Shoes in San Jose

The San Jose Sharks are expected to remove the interim coaching tag from Bob Boughner within the next couple of weeks, thereby cementing his status as the team’s leader heading into the 2020-21 season.

Seattle Set To Name Coach

The Seattle Kraken are set to name Vegas assistant Gerard Gallant as the first head coach in franchise history as they make their NHL debut this coming season.

Caps Lock Down Laviolette

The Washington Capitals wanted an experienced head coach to lead them next season, and they’ll have it after  hiring the widely-respected Peter Laviolette recently.

Blues in St. Louis

There looks like there will be some blues in St. Louis this offseason as the 2019-20 Stanley Cup champs and captain Alex Pietrangelo look like they’re headed for a divorce after talks on a new contract recently broke down. Stay tuned on this one MyBookie NHL betting buffs.

Marc Andre Fleury – Movin’ On!

After being surprisingly demoted to backup status behind Robin Lehner this postseason,  veteran net-minder Marc Andre Fleury reportedly wants to return to Pittsburgh. The three-time Stanley Cup champion should be out of Vegas in short order with the team looking to re-sign Lehner this offseason after he started almost every game in the postseason.

Stamkos On The Move?

While the Tampa Bay Lightning made an announcement in February that superstar center Steven Stamkos would not be traded during the current season, rumors are swirling that the 26-year-old could potentially be moved during the offseason, though that’s still purely speculation at this point.

Boston Baked Beans?

As stunning as it sounds, Tuuka Rask could be baked beans in Boston after the talented goalie stunned the entire NHL universe by quickly opting out of the NHL playoffs after suiting up for the first two games of the postseason. The move, which did not endear him to anyone that loves the Bruins, could pave the way for his exit, though, at this point, it still seems like a long shot to actually happen.

2020-21 NHL Season Could Be Delayed

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman held his annual Stanley Cup Final meeting prior to  Game 1 of the NHL Finals and announced that the start of the 2020-21 campaign could be pushed back to late December or early January 2021.

Pulling Double Duty

After Bettman’s announcement, rumors started flying that the league is toying with the idea of hosting “doubleheader” days where two teams would play twice in the same day, much like an NHL doubleheader. Stay tuned in for more details on this rumor.

MyBookie’s software and lines are in line with other books, but they really stand out with the promotions. They are more frequent and offer better deals than their competitors. I’ll never go back to another book.
