I love the young 20-year-old German and I believe he’s going to win multiple majors before he’s done – and it could start with this tournament. Zverev beat Federer two weeks ago at the Rogers Cup in Toronto and just looks like he’s poised to make his slam breakthrough sooner, rather than later.

World No. 7 Dominic Thiem has plenty of talent and is fearless against even the best players on the planet, although I’m thinking his one-handed backhand could be a vulnerability at this tournament for players who know how to get the ball up high on that side of his body. Juan Martin Del Potro should have at least five majors by now and I believe he would have if injuries hadn’t derailed him the last three to five years. Mostly to his balky racket-hand wrist. By now, everyone knows that young Australian Nick Krygios has the talent to beat everyone on the planet on any given day. Unfortunately, he also hasn’t been able to master the mental aspects of the game and may never do so. I believe the best value in this group is being offered by the man once known as ‘baby Federer, Grigor Dimitrov. The clearly hungry Hungarian, who moved up two spots to No. 9 in the singles ranking, is 34-13 on the year with three titles, including his Masters 1000 win in Cincinnati this past weekend.
