2021 MLS SuperDraft Expert Analysis – Soccer Betting
Okay MyBookie soccer betting faithful, with the start of the 2021 scheduled to get underway sometime in March, it’s time to take a look at the upcoming 2021 MLS SuperDraft. This year’s draft arks the 22nd in league history. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s 2020 SuperDraft was the first ever held via conference as will this year’s.
This year, Austin FC will have the first overall pick as they begin their inaugural season. Now, let’s take a brief look at this year’s draft and some of the collegiate players that could be selected early on, starting – and ending with Austin FC. With that in mind, let’s get to it so you can bet against their MLS odds.
2021 MLS SuperDraft Betting Analysis
- Philip Mayaka, Clemson (Midfielder)
Austin is almost universally expected to pick the Clemson midfielder with the top overall pick. While there aren’t many collegiate players capable of stepping into MLS and making an immediate impact, the versatile Mayaka is undeniably one of those players.
- Calvin Harris, Wake Forest (Forward)
The dynamic Wake Forest forward is great on the attack and fits the bill for a Cincinnati club that gave up a whopping 36 goals while scoring a pitiful 12 (-24).
- Ethan Bartlow, Washington (Defender)
The former Huskies defender is being billed as a sure-fire MLS performer that excels on the ball and is a player that is largely expected to have a lengthy MLS career. Houston needs talent after going 4-9-10 last season.
- Josh Bauer, New Hampshire (Defender)
Bauer could see plenty of playing time for a DC squad that went 5-6-12 last season while scoring 25 goals and finishing at -16 in goal differential.
- Nabi Kibunguchy, UC Davis (Defender)
Kibunguchy could make Atlanta’s roster or go down to the Atlanta United 2 to get some professional experience. Personally, I think Atlanta needs as much young talent on the pitch as possible after going 6-4-13 last season.
- Kimarni Smith, Clemson (Forward)
The Clemson forward has the skill to play up front or out wide for a Colorado team that went a respectable 8-4-6 last season.
Real Salt Lake
- Aime Mabika, Kentucky (Defender)
The 6-foot-6-inch central defender will add some quality depth to a Real Salt Lake squad that went an uninspiring 5-7-10 last season while finishing -10 in scoring differential.
- Matt Di Rosa, Maryland (Defender)
The Maryland left back could be a lock to make a Portland team that moved on from outside backs Jorge Villafana and Marco Farfan in the offseason.
- Bret Halsey, Virginia (Defender/Midfielder)
Halsey looks like a great fit for a Vancouver team that went 9-0-14 a year ago while allowing a whopping 44 goals to finish at -17 in scoring differential.
Inter Miami CF
- Rio Hope-Gund, Georgetown (Defender)
If Miami takes Hope-Gund, he’ll reunite with former Georgetown teammate Dylan Nealis.
- Daniel Pereira, Virginia Tech (Midfielder)
Pereira could be off the board by the time Austin picks 11th, but the former Hokies midfielder would be a virtual lock to make Austin’s roster alongside Mayaka.

MyBookie’s software and lines are in line with other books, but they really stand out with the promotions. They are more frequent and offer better deals than their competitors. I’ll never go back to another book.
My Bookie Review
I enjoy using your service. At times the website is sluggish but manageable. Most of the agents are extremely helpful, but there are those occasions that more training or knowledge of the service should be implemented for a better customer service experience.
