US Open 2023 from Flushing Meadows, New York

The US Open is the Last Grand Slam tournament of the year, also called majors, Grand Slam tournament are the four most important annual tennis events. Not to be confused with the US Golf Open, they offer the most ranking points, prize money, public and media attention, the greatest strength and size of field, and greater number of "best of 5" sets for men.

The US Open runs late August/September from Flushing Meadows, New York, United States. Other Majors include the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon.

While the prospects for this year’s 2021 Men’s Singles event looks promising, it’s hard to ignore the previous Champions. For the better part of a decade, Rogers Federer and Novak Djokovic have been going head-to-head for the title of US Open Champion.

US Open Betting Odds and Early Predictions for the 2023 Tournament

US Open Betting Odds and Early Predictions for the 2023 Tournament

Although the 2023 US Open is more than seven months away, betting markets have been open for quite some time. And, with the Australian Open going on Down Under, it’s worth looking ahead to the last Grand Slam of the year to predict how this tennis season plays out.

Last year’s US Open was a memorable one that may have signaled a shift in the sport. Roger Federer was absent from the field and later announced his retirement. Rafael Nadal was upset by Frances Tiafoe in the Round of 16, and Novak Djokovic was unable to play due to his vaccination status. That left the door open for Carlos Alcaraz, and the 19-year-old Spaniard not only won the tournament but became the youngest player to reach the world No. 1.

Iga Swiatek was the women’s champion, winning her second Grand Slam of the year and perhaps beginning an era of dominance that hasn’t been seen in the women’s game since the heyday of Serena Williams nearly a decade ago. Both Alcaraz and Swiatek are favorites to win in 2023. It’s time to have an early look at the favorites to win the women’s and men’s tournament so you can plan your bets against their US Open Odds.

Early Tennis 2023 US Open Betting Predictions | PGA Tour Odds

Men’s Outright Odds

  • Novak Djokovic +138
  • Daniil Medvedev +295
  • Carlos Alcaraz +330
  • Nick Kyrgios +830
  • Rafael Nadal +880
  • Jannik Sinner +1025
  • Alexander Zverev +1200
  • Stefanos Tsitsipas +1325
  • Casper Ruud +1475
  • Holger Rune +1800

Men’s Betting Prediction

Obviously, there’s plenty of tennis to be played before the next US Open, but there’s reason to hold off on betting on Alcaraz to defend his title. The Spanish sensation withdrew from the Australian Open as he is still recovering from a right leg injury. He has plenty of time to get his game in top form, but one has to wonder about his durability. There’s also many other worthy contenders.

Both Djokovic and Medvedev feel like decent bets as they’ve both won in New York, but Alexander Zverev is the best-value bet. The talented German won the gold medal in singles competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and seemed poised for a breakout year in 2022 before suffering a season-ending injury in the semifinals of the French Open – he even beat Alcaraz in the quarter-finals. He lost his second-round match in the Australian Open, but expect him to be playing at a high level by September.

Women’s Outright Odds

  • Iga Swiatek +222
  • Caroline Garcia +840
  • Aryna Sabalenka +970
  • Ons Jabeur +1125
  • Coco Gauff +1125
  • Maria Sakkari +1475
  • Paula Badosa +1525
  • Jessica Pegula +1900
  • Anett Kontaveit +2300
  • Emma Raducanu +2300

Women’s Betting Prediction

Swiatek is the betting favorite to repeat as champion in New York, but she’ll face challenges from familiar foes like Ons Jabeur and Caroline Garcia. However, expect 2023 to be a banner year for American Coco Gauff. The 18-year-old star is into the third round at the Australian Open and is a serious threat to win her first Grand Slam. Gauff would be the first American woman to win the US Open since Sloane Stephens in 2017.
