Miami Open Odds to Win, Prediction, and Tennis Betting Analysis
The 2024 Miami Open, an ATP/WTA 1000 event played on outdoor hard courts, is one of the premier tennis events of the season. The two-week event features a 96-player draw with each of the top-32 seeds in the men’s and women’s tournament receiving first-round byes. There’s nearly $9 million in prize money available and the winners receive 1,000 rankings points.
The tournament comes right after the ATP/WTA 1000 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, where Carlos Alcaraz won his first title of the season, beating Daniil Medvedev for the second consecutive year in the final. Iga Swiatek, the women’s world No. 1, beat Maria Sakkari in the women’s final. Each of these four finalists are expected to play in Miami. Let’s check out the Miami Open betting analysis, and look some of the women’s and men’s favorites.

ATP Tour Masters 1000 / WTA 1000
Tuesday, March 19th – Sunday, March 31th, 2024
Miami Gardens, Florida, United States
2023 ATP Winner: Daniil Medvedev / 2023 WTA Winner: Petra Kvitová
Miami Open Past Champions
Medvedev and Petra Kvitova are the defending champions. Medvedev beat Jannik Sinner 7-5, 6-3 in last year’s final and Kvitova defeated Elena Rybakina 7-6 (14), 6-2 in a thrilling women’s final. Alcaraz won the Miami Open in 2022 and Hubert Hurkacz was the champion in 2021. Sinner, who lost his first match this season to Alcaraz in the semi-final at Indian Wells last week, is a two-time runner-up in Miami. Novak Djokovic is a six-time champion and was scheduled to compete, but pulled out due to a scheduling conflict. He’s coming off one of the worst losses of his career, losing to world No. 123 Luca Nardi in the Round of 32 at Indian Wells.
Kvitova won in Miami for the first time in 2023. Swiatek won the title in 2022, beating Naomi Osaka in the final. Ashleigh Barty, who is of course now retired from the sport, was the back-to-back champion in 2019 and 2021 (the event wasn’t played in 2020 due to the pandemic). Other past female champions include Sloane Stephens (2018) and Johanna Konta (2017).
Favorites in the Men’s Draw
Djokovic is the only real notable absence in the men’s draw, meaning the field will be loaded with past champions like Medvedev, Alcaraz, and Hurkacz, all of whom are among the top-10 ranked players. Others in the top-10 include Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, and Alex de Minaur.
While it’s going to be tough to beat the top three (Alcaraz, Sinner, and Medvedev), there are a few players who could surprise in the men’s draw, most notably Rune and de Minaur. Rune has been playing better since reuniting with his former coach Patrick Mouratoglou and de Minaur won the Mexican Open earlier this season and was runner-up at ATP Rotterdam.
Favorites in the Women’s Draw
Swiatek, as the world No. 1 and former champion in Miami, is the overwhelming betting favorite, although she should be challenged by the likes of Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Elena Rybakina. Don’t count out Sakkari, either. Like Rune, she’s a player who has recently been playing much better after making a coaching change. Simona Halep, former world No. 1, is participating in her first event since the 2022 US Open. She was suspended for a doping violation.
Sabalenka, in particular, is a player with a lot to play for. She was upset in the Round of 16 at Indian Wells and lost in Round of 32 in Dubai and hasn’t looked comfortable at all since repeating as Australian Open champion.
Predictions
Sinner is a two-time runner-up in Miami and, considering how well he has played to start the season, should be a lock to make the final, even if he runs into Alcaraz, who beat him last week at Indian Wells. He’s the most complete player in the men’s game right now. Sabalenka is a good betting option in the women’s draw.

2023 ATP 1000 Miami Open Top 3 Odds to Win
The ATP 1000 Masters Series at the Miami Open is underway, with a Sunday final scheduled at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. The tournament’s early rounds have been littered with upsets, as 22 of the 32-seeded players were knocked out before the round of 16. Among those already headed home from South Beach are No. 3 Casper Ruud, No. 5 Felix Auger-Aliassime, and No. 8 Hubert Hurkacz.
Three of the top four seeds are still alive, but after the top seed, Carlos Alcaraz, the betting odds at MyBookie favor players further down the draw. Alcaraz leads the way at +100 to lift the trophy on Sunday. Daniil Medvedev, the No. 4 seed, is next at +275, and then the No. 10 seed Janik Sinner is at +600.
All the remaining players, including No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas are at least +1000.
Let’s take a look at the ATP odds for the Miami Open and the top three odds at MyBookie.
Tennis Betting Analysis: ATP 1000 Miami Open Top 3 Odds to Win
Miami Open Presented by Itau Tournament Info | Updated ATP Odds
Category: ATP Masters 1000 / WTA 1000
When: March 21 – April 2, 2023
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida, USA
Champions: Men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles action
Alcaraz the Favorite
ATP Player: Carlos Alcaraz Garfia
Country: Spain
Career titles: 8
So far in Miami, Alcaraz has shown little signs of slowing down after winning at Indian Wells last week. He won his first two matches 6-0, 6-2, and 6-0, 7-6(5) to march into the round of 16.
The draw gets tougher now with a matchup against No. 16 seed Tommy Paul, who won their only matchup last summer in Montreal. In the quarters, he will either face No. 7 Holger Rune or No. 9 Taylor Fritz. Alcaraz has never met Fritz, and he’s 1-1 against Rune, retiring last year in Paris and winning in 2021.
Alcaraz has just one loss in 2023, and with how he plays, it may not matter who is on the other side of the net. But this draw provides multiple challenges and roadblocks to even get to the final and a rematch with Medvedev.

Medvedev on a Mission
ATP Player: Daniil Sergeyevich Medvedev
Country: Russia
Career titles: 18
Things have been straightforward so far in Miami for Medvedev after losing the final to Alcaraz in California on Sunday. He won his first match 6-1, 6-2, then got a walkover in the second round to get some much-needed rest.
On top of that, all the other seeds in Medvedev’s quadrant have been eliminated, meaning he won’t face a seeded player until the semifinals. The round of 16 provides a matchup with qualifier Quentin Halys who came to Miami 5-8 on the season and ranked 79th in the world. In the quarters, he will face a player ranked lower than 62nd in the world.
Medvedev has only lost three matches all season, one to Novak Djokovic in the Adelaide semis, to Sebastian Korda at the Australian Open, and to Alcaraz in the final last week. He’s won three titles in 2023, including a win over Sinner in the Rotterdam final.

Sinner Having a Great Year
ATP Player: Jannik Sinner
Country: Italy
Career titles: 7
Sinner came into Miami with a 16-4 record on the season. He’s already made two finals and a semifinal this season and reached the Australian Open quarterfinals. Sinner won a title at Montpellier and lost to Medvedev in the finals at Rotterdam.
The 21-year-old Italian pushed Alcaraz to a tiebreaker in the semis at Indian Wells last week. If he can get past No. 6 Andrey Rublev in the next round, Sinner gets another chance at Alcaraz before potentially facing Medvedev or Tsitsipas in the final.
Winning in Miami could propel Sinner on to a big summer, and he’s already shown the ability to play with and upset the biggest names on tour.
