Betting College Football Week 9 Games

The Georgia Bulldogs blasted 1 Texas in Austin this past Saturday.

Heading into the matchup, UGA was a +5.5 road dog.

The Longhorns came crashing down to earth and couldn’t handle mighty Georgia on either side of the ball.

Georgia gets a bye in College Football Week 9 while Texas heads to upset minded Vanderbilt.

Check out the top games along with college football odds as we head into one of the most important week’s of the season.

Writer’s Picks for the SEC Matchups Highlight Saturday’s Action

Bama hosts Mizzou and LSU heads to College Station to take on the Aggies

Saturday, October 26, 2024

Alabama gets zero breaks.

The Crimson Tide must pick themselves up after a 24-17 loss to Tennessee on the road in week 8 because in NCAAF Week 9, Bama hosts Mizzou a -13.5 favorite.

The money keeps flowing to Alabama even though they haven’t proven to be nearly as good on defense as they were in 2023.

At the beginning of the season, I pegged Bama to lose at least 3 games.

So far, I’ve been right.

Full disclosure, I did jump on the Bama bandwagon after the win against Georgia but quickly jumped off after seeing how Vandy scored almost at will against Bama’s D.

The Tide shouldn’t cover this spread.

Missouri won’t win because the Tigers aren’t a great road team, but Mizzou will make Kalen DeBoer and the Bama faithful sweat.

As far as LSU is concerned, Brian Kelly has the team moving in the right direction.

Each week, Kelly has built upon the College Football Week 1 loss to USC.

It all came together in week 8 when the Baton Rouge Tigers trounced a good Arkansas squad on the road 34-10.

LSU faces a strong A&M squad but the Tigers should manage a victory as a +118 moneyline dog.

Buckeyes face Cornhuskers as Penn State looms

Saturday, October 26, 2024

Ohio State hosts Nebraska on Saturday a massive -24.5 favorite.

Somebody forgot to tell Ron Day that the College Football Playoff will include 12-teams this season.

How else do we explain the continued cupcake schedule that Ohio State faces?

After this week, the Buckeyes will have taken a single ranked team.

Not just a ranked team in the top 25, a single ranked team.

Guess what? Day and his boys lost to that team, the Oregon Ducks.

Nebraska got blown out by Indiana in their last.

So we shouldn’t expect the Huskers to cover.

Instead watch the game and then prepare for Ohio State – Penn State on November 2.

If OSU loses to the only other ranked team they’re likely to face this season, it’s doubtful Michigan is ranked when Ohio State takes on their rivals and Indiana may have lost quarterback Kurtis O’Rourke for multiple games, we must question Ohio State’s CFP resume.

NCAAF Picks: Ohio State

Navy won’t be an easy out for Notre Dame

Saturday, October 26, 2024

Like so many other teams in the top 25, Notre Dame has been rolling by opponents.

The latest team was Georgia Tech, which the Irish spanked 31-13.

On Saturday, the Golden Domers face a legit top 25 squad, though.

Once a line sets, back Navy to cover the spread.

If you’re feeling lucky, go with the Navy moneyline.

The reason is because Notre Dame has faced bad team after bad team.

Navy is undefeated at 6-0 and can score.

The Midshipmen want to get into a shootout, which will favor their fast paced offense.

Notre Dame could be in some trouble on October 26.

NCAAF Picks: Notre Dame

Illinois at Oregon is a key Big Ten matchup and Penn State heads to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers

Saturday, October 26, 2024

The most important matchups in the Big Ten has Illinois traveling to Autzen to throw down against the Ducks and Penn State heading to Madison to take on Wisconsin

The Illini will slow down the game and keep the ball out of Dillon Gabriel’s hands.

If the line was Oregon -21 instead of Ducks -21.5, back the home team makes sense.

The hook though makes Illinois the play.

Wisconsin has begun to pick it up.

Luke Fickell’s squad has won 3 straight while allowing 6 points to Purdue, 7 to Rutgers in an impressive 42-7 road win and 3 to Northwestern in an almost equally impressive 23-3 game.

The Badgers will challenge Penn State.

If the Nittany Lions overlook Wisconsin, Ohio State looms on November 2, Wisconsin wins outright.

The Badgers are an overlay at +7.5 and rates as one of the top underdog ATS plays of the week.

NCAAF Picks: Tennessee

How does it work?

Are college football bets different from NFL bets? Let’s Find Out

Yes, college football bets do differ from NFL bets in several key ways.

  1. Market Size and Depth:
College football features a much larger pool of teams and games compared to the NFL, with many more matchups each week.
This creates more opportunities for betting but can also make it challenging to keep track of all the teams.

  2. Point Spreads:
College football games often have larger point spreads than NFL games.
This is due to the disparity in talent levels between teams, especially in matchups involving ranked and unranked teams.

  3. Betting Lines:
The betting lines in college football can be influenced by public sentiment, especially for popular teams.
This means that lines may shift more dramatically based on betting patterns compared to the NFL, where lines are often more stable.

  4. Overtime Rules:
College football has different overtime rules than the NFL, which can impact total scores and betting outcomes, especially in closely matched games.

  5. Player Impact:
In college football, a single player, especially a star quarterback, can have a more pronounced effect on the outcome than in the NFL, where depth and team strategy play larger roles.

For bettors, understanding these differences is crucial to making informed decisions.

NCAA Football Week 9 Odds, Analysis, and Predictions: Best Winner Picks

Previous Betting News

After a relatively quiet Week 8 of the college football season, it’s time to move on to Week 9. As we approach November, the conference races are really starting to heat up. In looking at this weekend’s slate of games, we’ve found some games that we think we have a good beat on. We’ll break down some games and give you our predictions. It’s now time to take a look at our “sure winners” for Week 9 so you can get ready to bet against their NCAAF Odds.

Sure Betting Winners For Week 9 of the 2022 Season | College Football Lines

Michigan State Spartans @ Michigan Wolverines (-21)

It has been a disappointing season for the Michigan State Spartans. Coming off of a great 2021 season, much was expected from the Spartans this season. They haven’t lived up to expectations, and the 3-4 Spartans will head to the “Big House” on Saturday night to take on the undefeated Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan lost a lot of key pieces from last season’s team that made the College Football Playoffs. Jim Harbaugh just reloaded, and the Wolverines are on a mission to make it back to the playoffs. Not only do the Wolverines have one of the best defenses in the country, but they also have an offense that can beat you in many different ways. Blake Corum is one of the best running backs in the country, and quarterback JJ McCarthy can beat you with his arms or his legs.

Unfortunately for the Spartans, their in-state rivals are on a mission. They want to make it to the Ohio State game undefeated, and then that game will decide who the best team in the Big 10 is. Michigan’s defense is just too strong for the Michigan State offense. The Wolverines will beat the Spartans 38-10 and will cover the 21-point spread.

Missouri Tigers @ South Carolina Gamecocks (-5.5)

The South Carolina Gamecocks are quietly putting together a pretty good season. Coming into their home game with the Missouri Tigers, the Gamecocks are 5-2, and winners of four straight games. Shane Beamer has the program headed in the right direction, and they want to continue with the forward momentum.

Even though the Missouri Tigers are coming off of a victory, they haven’t had a very good season. They’re 3-4, and their lone SEC victory was a 17-14 home victory over the lowly Vanderbilt Commodores. All three of Mizzou’s wins have come at home, as they’re 0-4 away from Columbia.

The Gamecocks are coming off a big 30-24 victory over Texas A&M last week. South Carolina’s offense, led by Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler, is averaging just over 33 points per game on the season. Even though Rattler hasn’t been putting up the huge numbers he did at Oklahoma, he has done a nice job of guiding the Gamecocks offense.

We’re going to peg the South Carolina Gamecocks as one of our “sure winners” of the week. With Missouri not being a good road team, and South Carolina playing well, we don’t think Missouri has a chance in this one. Mizzou could barely beat Vanderbilt at home, so we can’t see them competing with South Carolina on the road. The Gamecocks win this one by two touchdowns.

We knew it was going to be an interesting 2022 NASCAR season as the Cup Series switched over to the Next Gen car, and that indeed was the case as 19 different drivers won a race this past year. Some people love the parity, while others think that the new setup favors being lucky rather than good.

The 2022 NASCAR postseason was interesting, with the first four races being won by non-playoff drivers. Eventually, the cream did rise to the top, with Chase Elliott, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, and 2021 Cup Series champion Kyle Larson winning races down the stretch.

Even with all the parity during the regular season, few people could argue that Joey Logano was an undeserving 2022 Cup Series champion. Logano had three wins during the regular NASCAR season and two in the playoffs, but now the question becomes, can he repeat in 2023? Let’s take a look at this analysis for your NASCAR bets.

What to expect in the upcoming 2023 NASCAR season?

2023 Team Changes

There has always been some swapping of teams in the offseason in NASCAR, but it’s almost getting to be like an MLB trade deadline the way drivers are realigned for the 2023 season.

The biggest move is Kyle Gibbs going from Joe Gibbs Racing, where he’s been since 2008, and heading to Richard Childress Racing. This is the equivalent of Tom Brady leaving the Patriots.

Other big team changes for 2023 include Tyler Reddick leaving RCR for 23XI. This isn’t a shock because Busch was coming over, and Reddick had announced his departure in 2024, but Kurt Busch’s retirement from a full-time driver pushed up the timeline.

It’s not just ‘trades’ that are going to make 2023 interesting, but also full-time debuts. The two biggest names moving to the Cup Series full-time are Ty Gibbs, who replaces Busch at his grandfather’s JGR club, and Noah Gragson, coming off one of the more successful Xfinity regular seasons in recent memory to drive full-time for Petty GMS. A.J. Allmendinger is also returning to the Cup Series full-time for the first time since 2018.

Who Will Win the 2023 Cup Series?

It will be interesting to see if the parity of 19 different drivers winning last season calms down in year two of the Next Gen car or if that’s just how NASCAR is going to be moving forward. Logano (+650) showed a mastery of the new racing format, so he’s obviously a favorite to become the first back-to-back winner since Jimmie Johnson in 2009/2010.

The co-favorites to win the 2023 Cup Series are Chase Elliott and his Hendrick Motorsports teammate Kyle Larson at +600. Elliott made the final four this season, and he and Larson won the Cup Series in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Other contenders for some 2023 NASCAR Cup Series future bets are Christopher Bell (+800), who was a championship four finalist after getting hot with two wins in the playoffs. Ryan Blaney (+850) will be a hot pick as well, even though he failed to pick up a win last season.

Maybe 2023 is the year that some old dogs return to top form, too, as Denny Hamlin (+1000) had two wins in 2022 but another ten top-five finishes. Maybe a change of scenery gets Busch (+2000) back on track.

Buckle up; the Daytona 500 is right around the corner.
