Writer’s ATS Picks for the Top NFL Games on Week 18
Browns at Ravens (-17.5, 42 o/u)
Saturday, January 4th, 2025
The Ravens continue their strong finish behind Lamar Jackson, who remains in the MVP conversation.
Cleveland’s offense lacks the firepower to keep up, making this a lopsided contest.
NFL ATS Picks: Ravens win 31-10 and cover the spread.
Panthers at Falcons (-8, 47.5 o/u)
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
The Panthers have shown resilience with Bryce Young improving late in the season.
However, the Falcons should secure the win at home, though they may struggle to cover the spread.
NFL ATS Picks: Falcons win 31-24 but fail to cover the spread.
Commanders (-4, 44 o/u) at Cowboys
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
With a playoff spot clinched, the Commanders will look to maintain momentum.
They should narrowly edge out the Cowboys, but the spread may be too large for comfort.
NFL ATS Picks: Commanders win 23-20 but fail to cover the spread.
Bears at Packers (-9, 40 o/u)
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
The Packers will bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Vikings.
Their offense and defense should handle the Bears with ease as Green Bay prepares for the playoffs.
NFL ATS Picks: Packers win 27-13 and cover the spread.
Texans at Titans (pick ’em, 38.5 o/u)
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
The Texans, locked into a playoff spot, will look to get back on track with a road win against Tennessee.
Their defense and C.J.bStroud should be enough to edge out the Titans.
NFL ATS Picks: Texans win 20-17.
Jaguars at Colts (-5, 45.5 o/u)
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
The Colts are favored at home but have struggled with injuries.
Jacksonville’s fight and balanced play should keep this game close, but the Colts are likely to pull off a narrow win.
NFL ATS Picks: Colts win 24-20 but fail to cover the spread.
Bills (-3, 38 o/u) at Patriots
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
Even with limited playing time for Josh Allen, the Bills have enough depth to overpower the Patriots.
New England’s struggles continue in what should be a comfortable win for Buffalo.
NFL ATS Picks: Bills win 23-13 and cover the spread.
Giants at Eagles (-3, 38.5 o/u)
Sunday, January 5th, 2025
The Eagles are playing for playoff positioning and should handle the Giants with ease.
Saquon Barkley’s potential absence only makes it harder for New York to keep up.
NFL ATS Picks: Eagles win 24-16 and cover the spread.
Chargers (-5.5, 41 o/u) at Raiders
The Chargers need a win for playoff seeding but may not dominate the Raiders in Las Vegas.
Expect a close game where the Chargers win but fall short of covering the spread.
NFL ATS Picks: Chargers win 20-17 but fail to cover the spread.
Seahawks (-3, 39.5 o/u) at Rams
The Jets will take advantage of a Rams team likely resting starters.
Seattle finishes the season strong with a win and covers the spread.
NFL ATS Picks: Seahawks win 27-20 and cover the spread.
Dolphins (-1.5, 39.5 o/u) at Jets
The Dolphins’ QB situation remains shaky, giving the Jets an opportunity to pull off a win at home.
Look for Aaron Rodgers to close the season on a high note.
NFL ATS Picks: Jets win 20-17.

How does it work?
Which teams are favored to cover the spread in Week 18? Let’s Find Out
When looking for NFL ATS Week 18 picks, ESPN and other sports analysts typically provide expert insights and predictions based on various factors such as team performance, player injuries, historical matchups, and playoff implications.
Here are some key factors to consider when making NFL ATS Week 18 picks:
1. Playoff Implications
Teams with playoff spots on the line often play with more intensity, which can influence their ability to cover the spread. For instance, a team like the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs (depending on seeding) might play their starters for the full game, while teams out of contention might rest key players, leading to less predictable results.
2. Motivation and Momentum
Look at teams that are in good form and have something to play for. Teams that are playing to secure a wild-card spot or improve seeding may come out with extra energy.
3. Injury Reports
In Week 18, injuries are crucial. With so much on the line, if a key player like a quarterback, wide receiver, or defensive leader is injured or playing through an issue, it can drastically impact the team’s ability to cover. Be sure to keep an eye on the injury reports as they’ll likely influence betting lines.
4. Head-to-Head Matchups
Past performance against certain teams can often indicate how a team may perform ATS. Some teams are better at defending certain offensive styles, which can lead to better chances of covering the spread.
5. Public Betting Trends
In the final week of the season, the public can often drive betting lines. A lot of money might be placed on a high-profile team like the Green Bay Packers or San Francisco 49ers, which could affect the spread. Betting against the public, known as “fading the public,” can sometimes present value in certain situations.
6. Resting Starters
In Week 18, some teams may have clinched their playoff spots and choose to rest key players, impacting their performance against the spread. For example, a team that’s already locked into a playoff spot might rest their star quarterback in favor of giving backups some experience.

2024 NFL Week 18 ATS Picks: It all comes down to the final weekend of the NFL regular season action. MyBookie Sportsbook NFL Odds, American Football NFL Lines
While a few spots have been filled, there are plenty more postseason berths still waiting to be claimed, and we will see it all play out in real time this weekend, starting with a couple of games on Saturday. The teams that play on Saturday could well have a torturous time, as they might well win and still need to wait until the end of day on Sunday to know what their playoff fate is. It is sure to be a weekend filled with drama and excitement, and we are going to see if we can find some winning bets along the way. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on ATS picks, so let’s get right to it.
Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals
Looking at this one prior to the start of the season, most of us probably imagined that the Bengals would be coming into the game looking for the #1 seed in the AFC, while the Browns would be fighting to stay alive.
That’s not how things have played out, though, as it is Cleveland that has already locked up their postseason spot, while the Bengals have now been officially eliminated. The loss of Joe Burrow hurt the Bengals and you do have to wonder just how up for this game they are going to be. I am a little surprised to see the Bengals in as the favorite for this one, especially when you consider that they are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 divisional games, while the Browns have covered in 4 of their last 5 overall. I am on the Brown to cover, and potentially win, this one.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans
Thanks to tiebreakers, it is the Jaguars who are clinging to the top spot in the AFC South despite sitting with the same 9-7 record as the Texans and Colts, who will meet on Saturday night.
The pressure will be on the Jags on Sunday, as they will need to win to take the division crown, which is no guarantee against a Titans team that is out of the playoffs and looking to play the role of spoiler. The Jags snapped a 4-game losing skid with a win last weekend, but they have been poor against the spread, going just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Tennessee is going out with a whimper, losing 3 in a row, but I have a feeling that they can keep this one close.
Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers
It has been a strange kind of season for the Green Bay Packers, who have looked dead and buried more than once over the course of the year. They have come to life over the last couple of weeks, winning 2 in a row to stay in the fight for a Wild Card spot. While this might look like a bit of a slam dunk, the Bears are also finishing strong, albeit with nothing to play for, winning each of their last 2 games. The Bears have also covered the spread in 5 of their last 6 overall, but they are also 0-9 ATS in their last 9 meetings with the Packers. Green Bay is just 1-4 ATS in the last 5 games they started as the favorite, but they have had the Bears number in recent years.
