Last season, NYJ averaged 17.4 points per, ranking twenty-ninth. If not for such a terrible offense, the Jets may have gone 10-7 instead of 7-10.
So adding Aaron Rodgers is huge. It’s also huge in the sense that Rodgers gets to throw to one of the league’s top, young wide receivers in Garett Wilson. The top wide out drafted last year, Wilson caught 83 passes for over 1,100 yards.
NYJ also signed Allen Lazard, who Rodgers thew to while both played in Green Bay. In addition, Breece Hall should return from an injury he suffered his rookie season one-hundred percent. AR has plenty of weapons in New York.
If the offense is good, the Jets should flip their 2022 record. Not only that, but J-E-T-S should challenge for the AFC’s 1-seed unless Rodgers suffers an injury or just doesn’t have it anymore.
Few teams will field a defense as solid as NYJ’s. This season the D won’t have to keep the team afloat.
It sounds crazy, but based on their schedule, the fact Rodgers gets to throw to Wilson, and the idea that Hall returns at a high-level, the Jets should lose just 4 games this season. A straight up record of 13-4 is a real possibility.

Oddsmakers realize the New York Jets will enter the season with high-expectations. Because of that, it’s doubtful the Jets win more games ATS this season than they did last season.

With No. 3 first-round pick overall and a GM who isn’t afraid to trade down for the right deal, there's a lot of “wait and see” scenarios happening. Maccagnan also faces the fact that he doesn’t have a great draft track record, meaning his job may be on the line if he doesn’t do it right. Raiders could try to make a deal since they’re in need of a good QB and want to get ahead of the Giants No. 6 pick.
They do have a few needs, a good cornerback will serve the Jets well, they’re worse off now than they were at the end of the season.
