Which Team Has the Edge & How Many Games to Win the Stanley Cup

The National Hockey League postseason just continues to roll along. There is plenty of talk about which teams are going to win their conference and head to the Stanley Cup. Today, we want to talk about which team has the edge and how many games to win the Stanley Cup plus the latest NHL Championship odds. Here it is:

Who Will Hoist the Cup? Unveiling the Latest NHL Championship Odds | MyBookie NHL Preview of the Teams Fighting for the Title

2024 NHL Season | 107th season of the National Hockey League
2024 Stanley Cup Finals: April 20 – TBD

New York Rangers Over Colorado Avalanche in 7 Games

The edge for the two leagues come from the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference, and the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference. The edge for the Rangers, they were the best team in the National Hockey League during the regular season, and no one is talking about them winning the cup. In fact, Carolina and Florida have better betting odds than the Rangers to win it all.

Another edge is Madison Square Garden. That is a magical place, especially for big games, and the postseason is always big. The place will be extra rocking this May as the New York Knicks are still alive in the NBA Finals quest. That place is going to be awfully tough to beat the Rangers in.

The third edge – the Rangers are really good on both sides of the puck. The Rangers scored nearly 3.4 per game and allowed just 2.76 per game. The goaltending for the Rangers has been strong all season. In between the pipes for the Rangers looks to be Igor Shesterkin, who made 55 regular season starts. He will be the man the Rangers count on to slow down the opposing offensive teams. On the offensive side, Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck, along with Chris Kreider have been terrific. That is about as good a trio as any in the league.

Western Conference Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche have the edge of being an impressive offensive team. Colorado scored just shy of 3.7 goals per game. They have one of the best power play units, and their best player is as good as any. In fact, Colorado has two guys on the offensive side that can light up the lamp at any time.

Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen both went for over 100 points during the regular season. The postseason has been much of the same, as the Avalanche scored 22 goals in the first four games of the postseason.

Colorado will need to go through either Dallas or Vegas in the second round, then may have a matchup against the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals. In the end, Colorado is better than any of the teams in the West, in a seven game series.

Cup History

The last time the New York Rangers were in the Stanley Cup Finals, they lost in five games to the Los Angeles Kings. The lone win during that series was a 2-1 victory in Game 4 to stay alive. That was the only time since the 1993-1994 season in which the Rangers won the Stanley Cup.

For the Colorado Avalanche, they were founded in 1972, and have won three Cup Finals. The latest was the 2021-2022 team. They are just a season removed, with Vegas taking the crown a season ago. Before that, Colorado won it all in 1996 and also in 2001.

Stanley Cup Final Result

We like the Rangers to get it done in seven games over the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado is good enough to grab some wins in this series. But, when push comes to shove, the final game comes at Madison Square Garden, and the Rangers get the job done. The Rangers win the cup in 7!

Which Team Has the Edge & How Many Games to Win the Stanley Cup

Previous Betting News

The 2023 Stanley Cup promises to be a rocking series. The Florida Panthers surprised everyone during the NHL Eastern Conference Playoffs while the Vegas Golden Knights knocked out the 1-seed Dallas Stars to win the Western Conference.

Which team gets it done and how many games will the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs go? See below for Stanley Cup odds, analysis, and a Cup prediction.

Which Team Has the Edge & How Many Games to Win the Stanley Cup | MyBookie Hockey Betting Preview

Stanley Cup Odds: Vegas Golden Knights -135 vs. Florida Panthers +115
When: Saturday, June 3 – Monday, June 19
Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV & FLA Live Arena, Sunrise, FL
TV/Streaming: TNT

Why Vegas will Win the Stanley Cup

The Golden Knights are getting goal production from almost everyone on the ice. Five different Vegas players scored goals in the 6-0 win against the Dallas Stars that catapulted the Knights to the Stanley Cup series: Michael Amadio, William Carrier, Keegan Kolesar, Jonathan Marchessault, and William Karlsson, who scored twice.

Not only did 5 different players score the 6 goals, but goalie Adin Hill held the Stars to 0 goals on 23 shots. Oh, and the game happened in Dallas.

Why Florida will Win the Stanley Cup

Florida beat three of the top four teams in the entire NHL, not just the Eastern Conference, but the NHL: the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Boston Bruins, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

But it’s more than that. Boston had the best regular season of any in the history of the league. The Panthers won three straight to get by the Bruins. Florida beat the Leafs 4 games to 1 and the Canes 4 games to 0.

Final Betting Analysis: Vegas Golden Knights vs. Florida Panthers

Vegas is the chalk because the number one seed was the Western Conferences best team. Not only that, but Vegas took down a couple of excellent teams in Edmonton and Dallas to stamp their ticket to the Cup series.

However, the Florida Panthers look like a team of destiny. Not only did Florida beat Toronto, Boston, and Carolina, but the Panthers have dominated in recent matches.

Florida has won 11 of their last 12 playoff games. They beat the Toronto Maple Leafs in 5 and swept the Carolina Hurricanes.

What’s so impressive is how the Panthers can win a tight game via a 1-2 score or outwork the other team in a high-scoring game, like when Florida beat Boston 7-5.

Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky is 11-2 in 14 playoff games. He’s allowing 2.21 goals per contest and has allowed 33 goals from 504 shots. The man is on fire in the crease.

Star left winger Matthew Tkachuk has 9 goals and 12 assists in 16 games played. Tkachuk is unstoppable right now.

Vegas may be the favorite, but the Panthers are the pick. Florida has proven they’re as good as the Golden Knights. Bobrovsky and Tkachuk will continue to dominate and lead the Panthers to a Stanley Cup victory in 6 games.
