The Ravens visit the Buccaneers on MNF, both 4-2 with Baltimore favored by just over field-goal

It’s a possible Super Bowl preview in the first of two Monday night games to conclude Week 7 and a matchup of 4–2 teams as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the Ravens as just over field-goal favorites on the NFL odds.

The Ravens won their fourth straight game in Week 6, 30-23 over Washington. QB Lamar Jackson completed 20 of 26 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown, with one interception. He added 40 rushing yards on 11 carries. Jackson has posted back-to-back games with more than 300 passing yards, and on the season the reigning MVP has put together a 10:2 TD:INT through six games while also chipping in two rushing touchdowns.

Zay Flowers

WR Flowers posted all nine of his catches for 132 yards in the first half – both career-high totals. Flowers’ nine catches were the almost any Ravens receiver has ever posted in the first half of a game. His 132 receiving yards were the fourth-most in the first half of a Ravens game, trailing only WRs Derrick Alexander’s 166 (1996 vs. Pittsburgh), Marquise Brown’s 147 (2019 at Miami) and Torrey Smith’s 144 (2011 at St. Louis). Flowers now has three career games with at least 100 receiving yards, marking the third most by a Raven within their first two NFL seasons, trailing WRs Mark Clayton (five from 2005-06) and Smith (four from 2011-12).

Derrick Henry

NFL rushing leader Henry rushed for 132 yards and two more touchdowns in the win. He became the first player since Pro Football Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson in 2005 to score a rushing touchdown in each of his first six games of a season. He’s just the second player to have six rushing scores to begin a stint with an NFL franchise (Patriots running back Robert Edwards in 1998).

Henry has nine touchdowns this season, the most by a Raven through six games of a season in team history. The Ravens are just the second team in the Super Bowl era with at least 150 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in each of its first six games of a season, joining the 1971 Oakland Raiders. With 176 rushing yards compared to Washington’s 52, Baltimore became the first team in NFL history to out rush its opponent by 100-plus yards in each of the first six games of a season.

Tyler Linderbaum

“In the fourth quarter, when it’s time for us to run the ball and get a first down, that’s how we need to finish games. That’s what good teams do,” center Linderbaum said. “I think teams preach [finishing] all the time, but he’s certainly a guy that absolutely does it, just with his size and speed. He’s a fun player to play with, and then just having [Jackson] back there as well, it’s challenging for defenses.”

The Ravens have now scored 28 or more points in four straight games. During their four-game winning streak, they’re also averaging 472 yards of offense a game. Against Washington, they set an NFL record as the first team to post six straight games with at least 150 yards and one touchdown through the air and on the ground. Only two teams in NFL history have averaged at least 200 rushing yards and 200 passing yards through a season’s first six games: the 2024 Ravens and 2019 Ravens.

On Monday, Jackson has an opportunity to improve his near-perfect career record against the NFC as a starter (22-1). Tight end Mark Andrews needs one touchdown to break a tie with Todd Heap (41 each) for the most in franchise history.

Deonte Harty

Baltimore is pretty healthy other than putting top returner Harty on injured reserve with a knee injury this week. Coach John Harbaugh said Harty’s injury isn’t season ending. Harty has returned eight punts for 85 yards across five games this year. Baltimore has been stout in road games dating back to last season, producing a league-best 9-2 record in such contests.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers MNF Line +153

The Bucs trashed the Saints 51-27 in Week 6, with the 594 yards of offense a team record and the 51 points the second most in franchise history. QB Mayfield completed 24 of 36 passes for 325 yards, with four touchdowns and three interceptions. Mayfield authored his third straight multi-touchdown game while putting together his second 300-yard effort of the campaign as well. He also matched his season high in touchdown passes, connecting with Chris Godwin (four, 55 yards), Sean Tucker (36 yards) and Cade Otton (eight yards) for his quartet of scoring tosses.

Baker Mayfield

Mayfield did get shaken up at the end of a late third-quarter drive, but because the Buccaneers punted on the next play, he never missed a play and led a touchdown drive on the next possession. Mayfield remains a fiery leader who entered Week 7 leading the league with 15 touchdown passes, but his play has become more precise, and he enters this game completing a career-high 70.9% of his passes. Mayfield has the highest passer rating by a Tampa Bay quarterback through six games of any QB who has started at least five of the team’s first six games (109.4).

Chris Godwin

WR Godwin is having his best season, entering Week 7 leading the NFL in receptions (43), receiving first downs (30) and yards after catch (324), while tying for first in receiving touchdowns (five) and ranking second in catch percentage (81.1% – min. 25 targets) and third in receiving yards (511).

The Buccaneers are the only team with three different running backs to have recorded a game with 100+ scrimmage yards this season (Bucky Irving, Sean Tucker, Rachaad White). Tampa Bay currently ranks fourth in the NFL in yards per rush attempt (5.3). In Weeks 5-6 alone, the Buccaneers lead the NFL with 7.2 yards per rush. Tampa Bay’s 5.3 rushing yards per attempt this season is the team’s highest average through six games in team history. The Buccaneers have amassed 27 rushes of 10+ yards this season, tied for the third-most in the NFL through Week 6.

Injuries

Bucs defensive tackle Vita Vea (hamstring) was added to Tampa Bay’s injury report on Saturday and is questionable after not practicing Saturday. Vea is one of the NFL’s strongest defensive linemen and would be counted on to defend Henry, the league’s leading rusher. Star WR Mike Evans was limited on Saturday after not practicing on Thursday and Friday, but Evans was not given an injury designation and is expected to play. Defensive lineman Ernest Brown IV (ribs), wide receiver Trey Palmer (concussion), and running back Rachaad White (foot) are questionable. Starting cornerback Jamel Dean (hamstring) is out.

Chase McLaughlin

Kicker McLaughlin has made a franchise record-setting 29 consecutive regular season field goals dating back to 2023. Last season, McLaughlin was 29-of-31 on field goal attempts and 33-of-33 on extra point attempts, setting a new franchise single-season record for field goal percentage (93.5%).

The Buccaneers are 14-13 all-time in Monday games, including winning 2-of-3 MNF contests since 2021.
