Betting 2024 ZOZO Championship | Know the Basics

The PGA Tour heads to Japan this week for the ZOZO Championship at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club.

The field features a mix of notable names and up-and-coming players, with several intriguing storylines leading into the event.

Here’s a look at some of the top contenders and their odds.

Writer’s Picks for the Next ZOZO Championship | Top Players to Watch

Betting ZOZO Championship Top Contenders

Xander Schauffele (+460)
Xander Schauffele enters the ZOZO Championship as the favorite, thanks to a strong 2024 season where he secured two wins and 15 top-10 finishes.

While his track record at this event isn’t flawless, with only one top-10 in three appearances, Schauffele’s recent form makes him a serious contender.

His consistency and ability to handle tough courses make him a player to watch this week.

Collin Morikawa (+680)
Collin Morikawa has had a solid season, setting a career-best in earnings but falling short of a win.

Morikawa’s strength lies in his ball-striking, and while he has struggled to defend titles, his form suggests he could be in contention this week.

His iron play will be crucial on this course, and if he finds his rhythm, he could break through for a win.

Hideki Matsuyama (+820)
Hideki Matsuyama returns to Japan as a two-time winner in 2024 and a past champion of this event in 2021.

Matsuyama’s recent performances at the ZOZO Championship have been mixed, but playing on home soil often brings out his best.

With the local crowd behind him, Matsuyama will look to add another title to his resume.

Betting ZOZO Championship Other Notable Players

Sahith Theegala (+1725)
Sahith Theegala has had a breakout season, and with two previous top-20 finishes at the ZOZO Championship, he’s a player who could make a strong run this week.

The limited field of 78 players increases his chances, and Theegala’s aggressive style could be well-suited to this course.

Kurt Kitayama (+2400)
Kurt Kitayama has been showing signs of improvement this fall, with a top-25 finish at the Black Desert Championship and a top-10 last week at the Shriners.

His recent form suggests he could be a dark horse contender at the ZOZO Championship, particularly if he continues his upward trajectory.

Doug Ghim (+3700)
Doug Ghim is coming off his best performance of the year, finishing as runner-up at the Shriners.

Ghim has been trending positively throughout the fall season, and this week could be his opportunity to capitalize on that momentum.

His recent consistency makes him a player worth keeping an eye on.

Betting ZOZO Championship Long Shots to Consider

Max Homa (+4400)
Max Homa has had a challenging 2024 season, but at +4400, there’s value in taking a chance on him.

Homa has the talent to compete, and while it’s unlikely he’ll suddenly find his form, the potential payout makes him an interesting option for those willing to take a risk.

J.J. Spaun (+5000)
J.J. Spaun enters the ZOZO Championship as a longshot, but his stats suggest he could outperform expectations.

Ranked 17th in strokes gained on approach and 18th in greens in regulation, Spaun has the tools needed to navigate this course successfully.

If he can carry his recent form into this week, Spaun could surprise the field.

ZOZO Championship Betting Conclusion

The ZOZO Championship offers an exciting opportunity to see top PGA players compete in Japan, with favorites like Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa leading the field.

With a mix of seasoned veterans and upcoming talent, the tournament promises an engaging week of Golf.

Keep an eye on the betting odds as the action unfolds and see if any of the longshots can make a run for the title.

2023 PGA ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP Odds Plus Betting Analysis on the Top Favorites

Previous Betting News

The FedExFall schedule moves across the globe to the country of Japan for the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP at Narashino Country Club in Inzai, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

This year marks year five of the tournament and the fourth time playing in the country of Japan. Tournament play begins on Thursday, October 19th, with a reduced field of 78 players and no cut over the four rounds of action.

Last year, Keegan Bradley won his first of two victories on the 2022-23 PGA Tour schedule with a 15-under par (265 total) score. The win was Bradley’s first since taking home the BMW Championship in 2018. He would go on to pick up his sixth PGA Tour victory less than a year later at the Travelers Championship this past June.

This event is the fourth tournament of the newly created fall slate, with just three tournaments remaining after this week. Players in action will fight for a piece of the $8.5 million dollar purse, and the coveted 500 FedEx Cup points awarded to the winner.

Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP tournament so you can bet against the PGA betting lines with MyBookie.

2023 ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP | 5th edition of the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP – Fourth event of the fall portion of the schedule
Thursday, October 19th – Sunday, October 22nd, 2023
Narashino Country Club, Inzai, Chiba Prefecture, Japan
2022 Winner: Keegan Bradley

Scouting Narashino Country Club

The 36-hole venue has hosted the ZOZO every year that the event has been played in Japan (2020’s version was played in the USA due to COVID-19 travel restrictions). Designed by Kinya Fujita and opened in 1965, the parkland-style layout offers a unique design for fans with two sets of greens for every hole. The feature is a common practice for Japanese courses.

Using a combination from both 18-hole courses on the property, the layout features five par 3s and three par 5s. A par-70 on the scorecard, the length of the course will be approximately 7,100 yards.

ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP Field Notes

There won’t be a lack of firepower this week, and many top names are expected to be in action this week. Xander Schauffele sits no. 2 in the FedEx Cup standings and no. 6 in the world and looks to add his eighth PGA Tour victory to his resume.

Schauffele and Collin Morikawa both return to action for the first time since playing in the Ryder Cup. Schauffele looks for his first win since July of 2022, while Morikawa hasn’t found the winner’s circle since 2021.

Another American Ryder Cup representative, Rickie Fowler, is in the field this week after a runner-up finish last season. Fowler looks to put the finishing touches on a fantastic year that included a Rocket Mortgage Classic victory in July.

Japan favorite and 2021 ZOZO winner Hideki Matsuyama returns to competitive golf for the first time since the FedEx St. Jude Championship. In the past three tournaments played at Narashino, Matsuyama has a solo second, win, and T40 finish.

ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP Betting Favorites

There are no surprises at the top of the odds board this week, with the world’s best leading the way. Schauffele is the top target at +710 over at the mybookie.ag sportsbook.

Morikawa (+1075) trails closely behind, while Sungjae Im (+1375) looks to build off his gold medal finish at the Asia Games two weeks ago.

Fowler (+1475) and Matsuyama (+1575) cap the top five pre-tournament betting favorites. Both have shown a history of success playing this property and provide good value this week for bettors.
