Writer’s Picks for the Texas Bowl Game
Betting Baylor Bears Lines adn Preview
The Baylor Bears started their season on a strong note with a 6-0 record but struggled in the second half, finishing 2-4 in their final six games.
Despite these challenges, Baylor boasts a high-powered offense that averages 434 yards per game, third in the Big 12.
Quarterback Sawyer Robertson has been consistent, throwing for 2,626 yards, 26 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions.
Baylor’s ground game has been a major strength this year.
Running back Bryson Washington has been the standout player, rushing for 1,004 yards and 12 touchdowns.
The offensive line has played a key role in the success of the run game, helping the Bears control the tempo in several of their wins.
If they can establish the run early, Baylor’s offense will be hard to stop.
On defense, the Bears are led by linebacker Matt Jones, who has 89 tackles and nine tackles for loss.
Baylor has been effective at forcing turnovers, with 19 on the season, ranking in the top 50 nationally.
This opportunistic defense could play a pivotal role in the outcome of the game, especially if they can pressure LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
Betting LSU Tigers Lines adn Preview
The LSU Tigers come into this matchup with momentum, having won six of their last seven games.
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier leads the team with 3,735 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, making LSU one of the top passing offenses in the nation.
However, the Tigers will be without their top receiver, Kyren Lacy, who declared for the NFL Draft.
This could impact LSU’s ability to make big plays through the air.
The Tigers have relied on a balanced offense throughout the season.
Running back Caden Durham has contributed 694 rushing yards and six touchdowns, while also being a receiving threat out of the backfield.
LSU’s offensive success hinges on Nussmeier’s ability to distribute the ball effectively to a mix of receivers, especially with Lacy unavailable.
Defensively, LSU has standout players like Bradyn Swinson, who leads the team with 8.5 sacks, and Whit Weeks, who has 64 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
LSU’s defense has struggled to force turnovers this year, managing only 13, ranking outside the top 100.
To keep pace with Baylor’s offense, LSU’s defense will need to step up and limit big plays.
Fiesta Bowl Betting Insights
Baylor is 8-3 against the spread this College Bowl season and has excelled as favorites, going 6-1 when favored by at least two points.
LSU has been less consistent against the spread, with a 4-8 record.
The betting line reflects Baylor’s advantage with the game being played in their home state of Texas.
The over/under for this game is set at 59.5 points, indicating expectations for a high-scoring matchup.
Baylor’s efficient offense and LSU’s potent passing game make the over an appealing bet.
However, with LSU missing key players, the game could lean toward the under if Baylor’s defense takes control.
Betting Final Fiesta Bowl Pick for the Game
Both teams have strengths that could lead to victory, but Baylor’s home-state advantage and more reliable run game give them the edge.
Head coach Dave Aranda also has extra motivation, facing his former team in this bowl game.
Expect Baylor to control the pace with their ground attack and make key defensive plays.
LSU will need a big performance from their secondary receivers and a strong showing from their defensive line to stay competitive.
While they have the talent to pull off an upset, the absence of Kyren Lacy and a less effective turnover margin may prove costly.

New Look for Aggies
The Texas A&M Aggies are projected to draw a large crowd of fans in Houston, are vying for their eighth win of the season. Jimbo Fisher’s departure as the head coach was a consequence of the team’s struggles, leading to the hiring of Mike Elko from Duke to coach the Aggies.
In their last three games, Texas A+M picked up wins in two, with the season finale loss at LSU attributed to conceding 42 points. The concluding wins showcased an impressive offensive performance, averaging nearly 45 points per game. Throughout the season, the Aggies maintained an average of 33.7 points per game.
Texas A&M will face challenges as starting quarterback Max Johnson and top receiver Ainias Smith are unavailable. Jaylen Henderson is anticipated to take the helm at quarterback after throwing for 294 yards in the loss at LSU. Smith, set for the NFL Draft, leaves Noah Thomas as the primary receiving target, especially with the departure of second receiver Evan Stewart.
Gordon is the Guy for Cowboys
On the Oklahoma State side, the offensive spotlight is on Ollie Gordon, recipient of the Doak Walker Award for the best running back in College Football. While Gordon is confirmed to play in this game, his status for returning to Stillwater remains uncertain, concluding the season with 1,614 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Cowboys’ signal caller, Alan Bowman, is expected to be available, boasting 3,058 yards and 13 touchdowns in the season. Brennan Presley, nearing the 1,000-yard mark with 161 yards to go, is also set to return for the Cowboys.
Coach Gundy and the Cowboys went through an odd season, experiencing early losses to South Alabama and Iowa State. Following a five-game winning streak, they came across a major struggle with a 42-point defeat at the hands of Central Florida. The Cowboys picked up monster wins at Houston and against BYU to earn a spot in the Big 12 title game.
Cowboys Smack Aggies in Houston
The Oklahoma State Cowboys are going to get the ball on the ground, keep the ball on the ground and get into the end zone. The Cowboys rushing attack is what is going to set them over the top in this game. Gordon and the Cowboys outlast the Aggies. Bet on the Oklahoma State Cowboys -3 over the Texas A+M Aggies on Wednesday in the Texas Bowl. Enjoy the game and good luck!

How to Bet Texas Tech vs. Ole Miss NCAA Football Odds & TV Info
Four bowl games on Wednesday and the finale of them features Texas Tech of the Big 12 facing Ole Miss of the SEC in the Texas Bowl from Houston – so the Red Raiders should have a sizable fan advantage. The Rebs, though, are short favorites on the NCAAF odds.
Series History
These two programs have met six times before, with Ole Miss most recently earning a 47-27 victory against Texas Tech on Sept. 1, 2018, at the Texas Kickoff in Houston. It will be Ole Miss’ first time in the Texas Bowl and Texas Tech’s third.
Why Bet on Texas Tech?
The Red Raiders (7-5) closed the regular season with a 51-48 OT win over Oklahoma. Trailing by 18 points, Texas Tech rallied to win, marking its largest come-from-behind victory all-time in the series against Oklahoma. It marked the largest come-from-behind win overall for the Red Raiders since fighting back from a 20-point deficit to defeat Kansas, 45-34, on Oct. 1, 2011, in Lawrence.
Trey Wolff made a 35-yard field goal in overtime after a tying kick in the final seconds of regulation. The Red Raiders ended a 10-game losing streak against OU and beat the Sooners and Texas in the same season for the first time in coach Joey McGuire’s first season. Texas Tech (5-4 Big 12) secured a winning conference record for the first time since 2009.Tyler Shough set a career-high for passing yardage with 436 yards as well as a career-high 31 completions and 50 pass attempts. It was his fourth career 300-yard or better passing game and third at Tech. He moves to 7-1 when starting for Texas Tech.
Jerand Bradley finished with a career best in receiving yards with 173 for Texas Tech, and he had a 44-yard tiebreaking TD catch in the fourth quarter. Bradley’s 173 yards receiving was the most by a Texas Tech freshman since Michael Crabtree had 195 on Nov. 10, 2007, at Texas.
Texas Tech enters bowl season as one of only two programs nationally to rank in the top 10 of the FBS for both red zone offense (8th) and red zone defense (9th), joining top-ranked Georgia. TTU is only the second FBS program since 1996 to have three different quarterbacks throw for at least 1,000 yards in a season, joining Oklahoma State from the 2012 campaign. Texas Tech leads the Big 12 in passing yards per game, averaging over 327. The offense effectively moved the ball, ranking third in the nation for first downs.
The Red Raiders will have plenty of support backing them in Houston as Texas Tech quickly sold out of its allotment of 6,000 tickets for the game. The city is home to several prominent Red Raiders, including Tony Bradford Jr., Adrian Frye, Dennis Wilburn, Mason Tharp and Wolff.
Texas Tech will be facing an opponent from the Southeastern Conference in a bowl for a second-consecutive season after routing Mississippi State, 34-7, a year ago in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. It will be only the 13th time the Red Raiders have faced an SEC opponent since becoming a Big 12 Conference member in 1996.
Why Bet on Ole Miss?
Ole Miss (8-4) ended the season with a third straight loss, 24-22 on Nov. 24 in the Egg Bowl vs. Mississippi State amid rumors Coach Lane Kiffin could leave for Auburn. He didn’t and got a big extension instead. Kiffin, 47, has guided Ole Miss to a 23-12 record in three seasons leading the Rebels.
Kiffin’s success with quarterbacks has been well-documented. He lured Jaxson Dart from USC prior to this season, helped Matt Corral become a third-round draft pick last season and was Alabama’s offensive coordinator in 2015 when Jake Coker led the Crimson Tide to the national title.
The Rebels lead the SEC and rank No. 6 in the FBS with 82 plays of 20 yards or more. Ole Miss ranks top 20 nationally in total rushing yards (3,139), rushing attempts (571), yards per rush (5.5) and rushing TDs (31). The Rebels average 491.3 total yards per game, the fifth-best single-season mark in school history … Three of the top five offensive seasons in program history have all come under Kiffin.
The Rebels are second in the SEC and No. 11 nationally converting on third downs 47.7 percent of the time. RB Quinshon Judkins earned numerous postseason awards including CBS National Freshman of the Year and SEC Newcomer of the Year. He leads all SEC running backs in both rushing yards (1,476) and rushing touchdowns (16). Zach Evans ranks seventh in the SEC in rushing yards (899).
The Rebels stand as one of two Power-5 teams with 5,000 yards of total offense (5,895, No. 16 FBS) and 3,000 yards rushing (3,139, No. 4 FBS) alongside Michigan. The Rebels’ No. 4 rushing attack only ranks behind the triple-option oriented service academies Air Force (3,971), Army (3,473) and then Michigan (3,159), which has played one more game due to the Big 10 Championship Game.
Ole Miss is making its third straight bowl appearance under Lane Kiffin. The Rebels are 12-3 in its last 15 bowl games dating back to the 1992 Liberty Bowl
Expert Prediction: Ole Miss 30, Texas Tech 27

Why bet on Texas Tech versus Ole Miss?
The Red Raiders finished the regular season with a 7-5 record. But before writing off the Red Raiders, it’s important to note that Texas Tech heads into this off 3-straight wins and covers.
Not only that, but while so many players have opted out of their bowl game, Texas Tech’s top offensive stars, running back SaRoderick Thompson, quarterback Donovan Smith, and the rest, should play.
Why bet on Ole Miss versus Texas Tech?
Rumors swirled that head coach Lane Kiffin might take the job at Auburn. Lane, though, had no desire to leave Ole Miss.
After he told his players his plans, they responded with a terrific performance versus Mississippi State, falling 24-22. But many in Mississippi weren’t convinced Kiffin didn’t have one foot out the door. Now those players know Lane will be their head coach next season. Expect the players to reward their HC’s loyalty with a big win and cover.
Texas Tech Red Raiders vs Ole Miss Rebels Final Betting Prediction
Mississippi finished their regular season going 1-4-1 against the spread in their final 6. To be fair, Ole Miss’ final 6 games were versus Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Alabama, and rival Mississippi State.
Texas Tech covered in their final 3 regular season games, but the Red Raiders took on Kansas, Iowa State, and Oklahoma. Those three Big 12 teams are good. They aren’t close to being as solid as the teams Mississippi faced to end their regular season.
The Rebels are more battle-tested. In addition, Kiffin wants to win this bowl game. Finally, the Red Raiders allow 30 points per game from over 417 yards. Lane will exploit Texas Tech’s defensive issues. Ole Miss wins and covers.
