Writer’s Pick for the Ravens vs Giants Game starting Sunday’s Round of Action

Baltimore Ravens Chasing the Playoffs

The Ravens are positioned as the fifth seed in the AFC, two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.

With four games remaining, including a critical matchup against the Steelers in Week 16, Baltimore has its eyes set on the playoffs.

Lamar Jackson, an MVP candidate, leads the offense with 3,290 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and an NFL-best passer rating of 116.3.

Jackson also adds 678 rushing yards, making him a dual-threat quarterback that defenses struggle to contain.

Baltimore’s running game is powered by Derrick Henry, who has 1,407 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns this season.

The Ravens’ offense, averaging 29.5 points per game, ranks third in the NFL.

Despite their firepower, Baltimore is coming off a narrow 24-19 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, highlighting areas for improvement as they push for a playoff berth.

Defensively, the Ravens allow 22.5 points per game, ranking 16th in the league.

They will need to tighten up against a Baltimore offense that has struggled but still has playmakers capable of capitalizing on mistakes.

New York Giants Building for the Future

The Giants have endured a challenging season, with an eight-game losing streak and a 2-11 record.

Injuries and inconsistency at quarterback have been major issues.

With Drew Lock sidelined by a heel injury, Tommy DeVito will start under center. (Need some News on QBs this week: Betting NFL Week 15 Quarterbacks picks)

DeVito’s performance earlier in the NFL season was steady but unspectacular, completing 21 of 31 passes for 189 yards in a Week 12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Rookie Malik Nabers has been a bright spot for New York, providing a reliable target despite being limited in practice this week with a hip injury.

The Giants’ offense ranks near the bottom of the league, averaging just 16.3 points per game.

On defense, New York allows 25.8 points per game and has struggled against the run, ranking 29th in rushing yards allowed per game.

Despite their record, the Giants remain focused on development.

Linebacker Brian Burns emphasized the importance of growth, particularly for younger players, as the team looks to finish the season on a high note.

Key Matchups

  1. Lamar Jackson vs. New York’s Defense
Jackson’s ability to make plays both in the air and on the ground will be a major challenge for the Giants’ defense, which ranks 29th in stopping the run.
  2. Derrick Henry vs. Giants’ Run Defense
Henry leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns and is second in total rushing yards.
The Giants will need to contain him to keep the game within reach.
  3. Tommy DeVito vs. Baltimore’s Secondary
DeVito faces a tough task against a Ravens defense allowing just 194.7 passing yards per game, ranking sixth in the league.

2024 NFL Playoff Implications

The Ravens are firmly in the playoff hunt and need a win to keep pace in the AFC North.

A victory would strengthen their wildcard position and set up a pivotal showdown with Pittsburgh in Week 16. (Talking of Playoffs, get some NFL Playoff History)

For the Giants, the playoffs are out of reach, but the team can use these final games to evaluate talent and build momentum for next season.

Ravens vs Giants Prediction and Winning Pick and Winning Pick for the Game

Baltimore’s balanced offense and playoff motivation should prove too much for New York to handle.

The Ravens’ ability to control the clock with their running game and create explosive plays through Jackson will likely lead to a comfortable win.

Prediction: Baltimore 31, New York 13

NFL ATS Pick: Ravens -16
NFL Total Pick: Over 42.5

Baltimore Ravens vs NY Giants Lines & Prediction for Week 6 of the 2022 Season

Previous Betting News

Week Six action will take place at MetLife Stadium between the New York Giants (4-1) and the Baltimore Ravens (3-2) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

The Baltimore Ravens kept up their season-long pattern of winning and losing by beating the Cincinnati Bengals 19-17 in Week Five at home and will hit the road to break that streak. The Green Bay Packers couldn’t escape the Giants as New York took the Pack by surprise by a score of 27-22 in London last Sunday.

Check out our NFL Betting preview of this Week Six NFL regular-season matchup between the Ravens and Giants, and let’s find the best bets for you on Sunday.

Ravens Trying to Find Consistency

On Sunday Night Football in Week Five, the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at home, 19-17. Kicker Justin Tucker managed to make all four of his field goal attempts, including the game-winning kick of 43 yards with seconds remaining.

Lamar Jackson, the quarterback, had 174 passing yards, less than 200 yards for the second week in a row. He had not gained 58 rushing yards since Week 1 against the Bengals.

The Ravens’ defense has had a difficult year, especially in comparison to recent years with the departure of longtime defensive coordinator Wink Martindale in the summer. He is currently on the Giants’ sideline, and they seem to surely miss him.

In Week Five, the Baltimore Ravens Defense outperformed the Bengals, recording three sacks and one turnover. Despite this, they’re allowing the fifth most yards in the NFL and 23.4 points per game.

Giants Look to Move to 5-1

Before the season began, hardly anyone predicted that the New York Giants would be the better team when they faced the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. The G-Men are currently in control of the NFC East and the Wild Card race thanks to the GIant’s new Head Coach Brian Daboll.

At London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Giants defeated the Green Bay Packers by a score of 27–22. For the fourth time this year, running back Saquon Barkley has surpassed 100 total yards after accumulating 70 yards. Daniel Jones’ game plans have been straightforward thus far, and the fourth-year quarterback has reacted well, throwing for 848 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

In their 27-22 victory over Green Bay, the New York Giants Defense limited the Packers to 222 passing yards and 94 rushing yards while grabbing two sacks and surrendering just 22 points. The Packers attempted to tie the game following a 14-play drive, but the Giants’ defense was able to force a turnover on downs in the red zone.

Betting Odds and Lines

The Baltimore Ravens are the betting favorites in this game, with the line set at -5.5 (-110). In terms of the moneyline, the New York Giants are given chances of +205 to win, while the Baltimore Ravens are given odds of -245. The Over/Under for this NFL game is currently set at 45 points (-110).

Betting Prediction

You cannot deny that the Giants and Ravens play close games, regardless of your opinion of either club. This Giants-Ravens game should be tight, whether you want to blame it on the fact that they are both poor teams or the fact that they have faced tougher competition.

Even though the Ravens appear to be the superior team in this game, Brian Daboll is leading the Giants to an absolutely incredible season right now.

The G-Men will have the home field advantage in this one, and I think this is another close defensive battle. Expect the Giants to cover and potentially win this one outright.

Betting Pick: New York Giants +5.5 (-110)
