Updated AFC Championship Odds this Season

As the NFL season progresses, several AFC teams are emerging as top contenders for the Super Bowl.

Here’s a look at the leading teams from the AFC and their chances of making and winning the Super Bowl.

Writer’s AFC Picks and Insights on the Next Super Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs (+380)

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again proving why they’re the favorites to win another Super Bowl.

Head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have their sights on a third consecutive championship, a feat no team has accomplished in NFL history.

Kansas City’s defense is one of the best in the league, and their offense, despite a quieter year for Mahomes statistically, has kept them at the top of the standings.

Even with injuries throughout the roster, the Chiefs have remained strong, relying on both seasoned veterans and young talent to make plays.

Their combination of a strong defense and smart coaching keeps them in the top spot in the AFC, and they are expected to be a serious threat come playoff time.

Baltimore Ravens (+650)

The Baltimore Ravens are making waves in the AFC, bouncing back from an 0-2 start to become one of the toughest teams to beat.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson is putting together a standout NFL season, and Derrick Henry is pushing for a 2,000-yard rushing season.

Baltimore’s potent combination of a powerful ground game and Jackson’s versatility has them on the Super Bowl radar.

The Ravens look ready for a deep playoff run, especially as their defense improves and Jackson continues his MVP-caliber performance.

Baltimore’s season goal is clear: to win it all.

With their current momentum, the Ravens could find themselves at the top of the conference.

Buffalo Bills (+810)

The Buffalo Bills are having a surprising season, defying expectations that they’d be rebuilding.

Quarterback Josh Allen has been solid, and the addition of wide receiver Amari Cooper has given the offense a new dimension.

Their defense has also benefited from key players returning, putting them in contention for the AFC’s top seed.

Buffalo’s recent performances have silenced doubters, and they’ve been particularly dominant within their division.

With playoff positioning on the line, the Bills will aim to continue their success into the postseason, where they could be a tough opponent.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+3100)

Under head coach Mike Tomlin, the Pittsburgh Steelers remain competitive in a challenging AFC North.

While they’ve had some struggles on offense, their defense has kept them in games, and Tomlin’s decision-making has helped them secure critical wins.

Wide receiver George Pickens has emerged as a key player, making big plays to keep Pittsburgh in the playoff conversation.

The Steelers are in a good position to compete for a playoff spot, but they’ll need to maintain their momentum against divisional rivals.

With a difficult second half of the season, Pittsburgh’s ability to win close games will be key if they want to make a Super Bowl push.

Houston Texans (+2200)

The Houston Texans are exceeding expectations this season, thanks to solid performances from rookie quarterback C.J.

Stroud and standout defender Will Anderson Jr.

Stroud has been steady, leading the offense while Anderson pressures opponents on defense.

Although they’ve had some struggles against top teams, the Texans are in the playoff mix and showing real promise.

Houston’s goal is to continue building momentum, as they aim to take down tougher teams in the coming weeks.

Their young core could surprise opponents in the playoffs, giving the Texans a shot at going further than most expected this year.

AFC Playoff Picture

These teams are all pushing hard for top playoff spots, with Kansas City and Baltimore leading the pack.

As the playoffs draw closer, the battle for the AFC will come down to consistency and depth.

AFC Contenders for Super Bowl LVIII

Previous Betting News

The Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, and Buffalo Bills are top contenders for Super Bowl 58 at Allegiant Stadium next season.

No doubt, all four of those teams can get it done. But are any of those four teams solid plays to win Super Bowl LVIII?

As we Week 9 of the 2023 season, let’s take a look at the AFC Super Bowl odds, analysis, and picks for the best game of the year: Super Bowl LVIII.

Odds for AFC Super Bowl Contenders

  • Kansas City Chiefs +480
  • Miami Dolphins +860
  • Baltimore Ravens +1150
  • Buffalo Bills +1175
  • Cincinnati Bengals +1550
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +1750

Top Low Odds Play: | Miami Dolphins

Super Bowl Odds to Win: Dolphins +860

If you’re trying to decide between Kansas City and Miami, it’s a no-brainer. The Chiefs won the 2023 Super Bowl. Teams don’t win back-to-back Super Bowls in today’s modern NFL.

That alone makes the Dolphins a better play. Also, even though KC has the talent to win the NFL Championship, Miami has talent on both sides of the football.

So if you’re looking to back chalk, stop overthinking it and go with the hungrier squad whose offense has proven to be one of the best already in the history of the NFL.

Best Bet: | Jacksonville Jaguars

Super Bowl Odds to Win: Jaguars +1750

The Jaguars are on a 5-game winning streak. The reason for the streak is because Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, and the rest of the Jags’ offense has gotten it together.

Another reason is because Jacksonville’s defense is one of the best in the league at forcing turnovers. The Jags can win the Super Bowl this year and are a terrific bet at +1750 odds.

Second Best Bet: | Cincinnati Bengals

Super Bowl Odds to Win: Bengals +1550

Since starting the season losing their first 2 games, Cincinnati has since rallied to win 3-of-4.

The Bengals may not lose another game this season because both the offense and defense are playing lights out. Also, Joe Burrow is healthy. So that’s another reason to like the Bengals to win the AFC North and carry that over to a great playoff run.

What’s wrong with the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens?

Kansas City shows 2 convincing wins this season, 41-10 versus the Chicago Bears and 31-17 against the Chargers. Other than those two terrific victories, the Chiefs haven’t played well enough to be the favorites to win the Super Bowl.

Also, KC heads into NFL Week 9 after one of their most embarrassing losses since Patrick Mahomes became their quarterback. The lowly Denver Broncos beat the Chiefs 24-9. Kansas City’s defense couldn’t stop Denver’s terrible offense and the Broncos’ D held Magic Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense in check.

Buffalo hasn’t played great football in the past few weeks. The Bills have lost 2-of-4. 1 of the losses was versus the New England Patriots. The other came against the much better Jacksonville Jaguars. Even in the victories, Buffalo failed to turn heads, 14-9 versus the New York Giants, and 24-18 against the Buccaneers.

There’s nothing wrong with the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar Jackson and his mates can win the Super Bowl, but the odds make them difficult to back. The reason is because Jacksonville is better and so is Cincinnati. However, if Lamar gets it going, nobody will stop the Edgar Allan Poes from making it to at least the AFC Championship.
