Tournament play is not always pretty to watch for fans of any team. To win the European Championship, a team needs to play 7 games in a relatively short period of time.
Playing consistently well through that sort of schedule is tough, and sometimes it’s just about finding a way to survive.
My Analysis
There are several good teams who have been unable to survive that trial by fire, so we are now down to the final 4.
The first semi-final is set to go on Tuesday, so these two teams will know who they will be facing in the final if they can overcome this one.
Both of these teams have had some scares along the way, and I think it is fair to say that we have not seen the best from either of them to this point. That makes this matchup all the more unpredictable.
According to MyBookie Sportsbook, it is England who are in as a modest favorite for this one, with the goal total set at 1 ½.

There are a few teams taking some heat from fans and pundits alike due to lackluster performances, but none are getting hammered as hard as England.
Blessed with arguably the best squad of players in the tournament, especially on the attacking side of the field, but they have struggled to score goals and have made it to this point of the tournament by the skin of their teeth.
Say what you want, though, this is their second straight semi-final at the European Championship, so while they may not be fun to watch, they are getting the results they need.
In the knockout phase of the tournament. They needed a late goal and extra time to take out Slovenia, after which, they needed penalties to beat Switzerland.
They had to come back from a goal down to win both of those games, so they have shown some resilience along the way.

If you want to talk about resilience, you need to talk about the Netherlands, who have consistently played from behind in this tournament.
They only won once in the group stage, which was a 2-1 come from behind win over Poland in their opener.
That was followed by a 0-0 draw with France and a thrilling 3-2 loss at the hands of Austria.
Their best performance of the tournament came in the Round of 16, where they swept Romania aside with a 3-0 win that was their most complete showing from start to finish.
The quarterfinals were back to business as usual, as they went a goal down to Turkey before scoring twice in quick succession in the second half to come away with the 2-1 win.
The Dutch defense has looked shaky at times, but you cannot argue with how good they have looked going forward.
^England vs Netherlands Betting Prediction
In big games, you tend to think of the first goal as being important, but both of these teams have proven that going behind has not necessarily been a problem.
That said, I think the Netherlands look more capable of getting the goals they need if they fall behind, which is why I have the getting the win.
