The AP Poll for Week 5 is out and it has Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State land in the top three spots.
Alabama is fourth followed by Tennessee in fifth and Ole Miss in sixth.
Miami, Oregon, Penn State, and Utah round out the top ten.
If the 12-Team College Football Playoff was based on the poll and was happening this week, Missouri at eleventh and Michigan at twelfth would both be in the CFP.

Writer’s Week 5 Picks for the AP Top 25 Matchups Betting!
SEC Teams Dominate the Top 6
The Southeastern Conference boasts 5 of the top 6 ranked teams in the nation.
Texas, Georgia, and Alabama rank first, second, and fourth.
Tennessee ranks fifth and Ole Miss ranks sixth.
Only Ohio State lands in the top 5 at three that doesn’t play in the SEC.
The Buckeyes have also become the favorite to win the National Championship.
We get into later in this blog.
Texas, Tennessee, and Ole Miss have relatively easy games this weekend.
The Longhorns battle Mississippi State, a team that lost to ASU, Toledo, and Florida.
The Arizona State game was somewhat close but Texas is much better than the Sun Devils.
Tennessee travels to Arkansas.
Winning an SEC game on the road is always difficult, but the Vols’ defense is better than the Hogs’ defense.
Tennessee should get it done.
Ole Miss hosts Kentucky.
For sure the Wildcats stepped it up in a close 1-point loss to Georgia a couple of weeks ago and then blasted Miami (OH) 41-6.
But Kentucky must travel to Mississippi where Jaxon Dart and the Ole Miss offense have dominated defenses.
Georgia Versus Alabama to Decide the SEC’s Best… For Now
While the Vols, Rebels, and Horns should have no trouble winning this Saturday, a top SEC team is going to fall.
UGA heads to Tuscaloosa to battle the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kalen DeBoer’s offensive system is perfect for Heisman Trophy contender Jalen Milroe.
The dual threat quarterback is doing his best Michael Penix impersonation this season.
Milroe has thrown for 590 yards and 8 touchdowns.
He’s also rushed for 156 yards, a 4.3 per carry average, and 6 touchdowns.
Georgia’s defense is stepping it up but Carson Beck and the offense has had issues.
The Dawgs lost to Bama in the SEC Championship last season and that was before the Tide hired DeBoer as their head coach.
Alabama has the best offense in the nation.
So don’t be surprised if the home team dogs get it done straight up on Saturday.
NCAAF Week 5 Pick Alabama
Tennessee Rises After Beating Oklahoma in Norman
Tennessee leapfrogged SEC rival Ole Miss this week after taking down the Oklahoma Sooners on the road in College Football Week 4.
The most impressive part of the victory is how the Volunteers’ D held the Sooners to 15 points in a defensive 25-15 game.
If Tennessee’s defense continues to play as well as it has, we must place the Volunteers on the same level as Georgia, Alabama, and Texas in the SEC.
That means Josh Heupel’s bunch can win the National Championship.
Tennessee’s next big matchup happens at home versus Alabama on October 19.
The Volunteers can make a big time statement in that game.
The statement will be even more forceful if the Vols beat an undefeated Bama squad that has a win over Georgia.
NCAAF Week 5 Pick Tennessee
After Loss to Michigan, USC Looks for Bounce Back Versus Wisconsin
The Michigan beat USC 27-24 in week 4 even though Wolverines’ starting quarterback Alex Orji threw for 32 yards.
How can a team score 27 points and win a game without their quarterback throwing for at least 100 yards?
The Maize & Blue exposed a massive hole in USC’s defense.
The Trojans couldn’t stop the rush.
Michigan rumbled for 290 yards from 46 carries, a 6.3 per carry average.
USC will look to bounce back this Saturday versus a mediocre Wisconsin team.
The game happens at the LA Coliseum.
So the Trojans should get it done.
Louisville can Make a Statement in South Bend Versus Notre Dame
Although undefeated at 3-0, Louisville is an underdog versus Notre Dame this weekend.
The fifteenth ranked Cardinals come off a quality victory against Georgia Tech.
Louisville has a shot to turn heads.
Beating a hot Notre Dame squad on the road would do that.
Notre Dame’s D has stepped it up in their last two games when yielding 7 points to Purdue in a 66-7 win and allowing Miami Ohio to score 3 in a 28-3 victory.
Holding Louisville to 3 or 7 points may not happen.
Give the Cardinals a real shot at the moneyline upset.
Ohio State is the new fave to win it all after Georgia squeaks out a win versus Kentucky
After Georgia barely got by Kentucky by a point, oddsmakers and college football betting fans made the Ohio State Buckeyes the new favorite to win the National Championship.

National Championship future players are dumping on the Buckeyes, Bulldogs, Longhorns, and Crimson Tide.
Among those four teams, the Tide offers the best odds.
If you agree, consider backing Alabama before Saturday’s matchup against Georgia.
If Bama beats the Bulldogs, they will catapult to third choice behind Ohio State and Texas.
If you don’t agree, keep your money in your pocket.
It’s too early to go with anyone at this point other than Alabama because their odds are likely to change with a victory over the Dawgs.

NCAAF 2022 AP Top 25 Analysis: Best Week 5 Games to Bet On From Ranked Teams
Previous Betting News
The top 25 college programs have shown us that there are some huge games that we could be betting on in order to get some great odds and essentially win some money throughout the College Football slate this week. Today, we are going to highlight a few games and discuss which side we should be taking against the spread and try to win some money together by betting on the NCAAF Odds.
Top 25 College Football Analysis and Betting Opportunities for Week 5 of the 2022 Season
Washington Huskies vs UCLA Bruins (+3)
These teams are very similar as both programs are a perfect 4-0 thus far, and both teams have been doing very similarly in terms of how they play. The UCLA Bruins have an excellent quarterback in senior Dorian Thompson-Robinson, as he has been able to use his legs and his arm to get 10 total touchdowns through their first four games and an outstanding 74.8 completion percentage thus far. UCLA has dominated on the ground as they are averaging 5.7 rushing yards per attempt as well.
Defensively, the Washington Huskies are allowing 25 points per game in their previous two games, while the Bruins are giving up 18.3 points per game in their last three games. All in all, go with the UCLA Bruins getting a few points to cover the spread and upset the Washington Huskies at home.
Texas A&M Aggies vs Mississippi State Bulldogs (-3.5)
The 17th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies head to Davis Wade Stadium to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs here. The difference is the offensive output, as the Aggies are averaging 21.3 points per game while the Bulldogs are scoring 37.3 points per game. Aggies quarterback sophomore Haynes King is struggling as he has three touchdowns and two interceptions through the air thus far, while Bulldogs quarterback junior Will Rogers is tied for the lead in the nation with 16 passing touchdowns while just tossing three interceptions.
Texas A&M is going to drop back in coverage, but senior wide receiver Caleb Ducking is one of the best players out wide with space in the country. The Bulldogs are currently a 3.5-point home favorite here so go with the Mississippi State Bulldogs to cover the spread here.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs Florida State Seminoles (-7)
The defenses have been on two different levels, as the Demon Deacons are allowing 30.5 points per game while the Seminoles are giving up 18.8 points per game thus far. Taking out the first game of the regular season, there is an even bigger difference as Wake Forest is giving up 37.3 points while Florida State is allowing 22.7 points. Florida State dominates on the ground as they are averaging 226.8 rushing yards per game, and Wake Forest is running the football for 123.5 yards per game. There has been a great difference between these teams, and I do not see the Wake Forest Demon Deacons stopping them on defense, so it will be an interesting matchup as the Florida State Seminoles cover the spread and win by multiple possessions.
