The Bulldogs saw their quest for an unprecedented three-peat come to an end with a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game last season, but don’t let that lead you to believe that the potential dynasty is over. The Dawgs have another top-rated class of players coming into play this season, as well as a QB who now has a full year of experience as a starter under his belt. Make no mistake about it, this is the team to beat in the SEC and potentially all of college football, as they look to be totally stacked from top to bottom. The new 12-team format may offer a little relief for a Georgia team that has a very tough schedule ahead of them.

College Football Latest Line for 2024 Season
Ohio State Buckeyes +450
In each of the last 3 seasons with coach Ryan Day at the helm, the Buckeyes have posted consecutive 11-2 seasons. It’s a record that many teams would die for but given that Ohio State has missed the playoffs in each of those years, it’s one that fans are not entirely comfortable with. It has been an inability to beat Michigan that has left them out in the cold, but with Jim Harbaugh leaving the Wolverines to go back to the NFL, perhaps the door is open for the Buckeyes to once again gain control in the Big Ten. The new format means they will almost certainly be postseason bound, but can they go all the way.

College Football Latest Line for 2024 Season
Texas Longhorns +800
Say help to one of the newest members of the SEC, with both Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference this season. They will be looking to build on an excellent 2023 season, where they went to the playoffs before losing to Washington in an absolute thriller in the Sugar Bowl. You can certainly argue that getting back to the playoffs is going to be a good deal tougher given that the SEC is much less forgiving than the Big 12. Still, the Longhorns look equipped to handle that move, and they need to be seen as a threat.

Oregon Ducks +1000
The Ducks are coming off their best season since 2019, closing out with a 12-2 record after crushing Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl. This season, that record would have been enough to get them into the 12-team playoffs, but last year, they came up short of the postseason. While there are some concerns about moving to a new conference, with the Ducks playing in the Big Ten this season, they still look like a team that could make some noise. Realistically, they will be looking to get to the Conference Championship Game in year one, after which they will take it from there. They still feel like a longshot to me.

The schedule, like every season, is a cakewalk but UGA must play this season without the leader of their team, Stetson Bennett. Also, although four players along the offensive line have starters experience, the O-line won’t be as dominant, which means the Dawgs must count on their rushing attack, which could pose issues.
Beating Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee will be more difficult than many realize. And even if Georgia makes it to the SEC Championship, Bama or LSU should be waiting for them.

Alabama doesn’t know who their starting quarterback will be this season. Jalen Milroe has the most starting experience, but Kelvin Sampson has the better pocket presence and can throw a more accurate deep ball.

If FSU beats LSU, they could go undefeated during the regular season.
