On Saturday, ESPN+ broadcasts an early morning in the United States card from Tokyo, Japan that includes three title fights. Kosei Tanaka is the favorite against Christian Bacasegua for the WBO Junior Bantamweight title, Takuma Inoue is a -230 chalk versus Jerwin Ancajas for the WBA Bantamweight Championship, and Junta Nakatani is -850 to take down Alexandro Santiago.
After Tanaka, Inoue, and Nakatani battle in Japan for straps, Edgar Berlanga throws down against Padraig McCrory in the main event on a DAZN broadcast fight card.

Kosei Tanaka vs Christian Bacasegua
Boxing Lines: Kosei Tanaka -700; Christian Bacasegua +390
WBO Junior Bantamweight Title
Friday, February 24th, 2024
Tokyo, Japan
26 year old Christian Bacasegua enters the ring with a decent record. Bacasegua is 22-4-2 with 9 stoppage victories. The underdog in this hasn’t lost since 2019. Since the loss, Bacasegua has won 9 straight.
But although the underdog is on a nice streak, Bacasegua must step it up big time versus Kosei Tanaka. The -700 favorite is 19-1 with 11 stoppage wins. Tanaka can beat you with his boxing skills or power. There’s a chance Tanaka scores the KO win. So look for a prop before backing Kosei on the moneyline.

Takuma Inoue vs Jerwin Ancajas
Boxing Lines: Takuma Inoue -230; Jerwin Ancajas +165
WBA Bantamweight Title
Friday, February 24th, 2024
Tokyo, Japan
Jerwin Ancajas is one of the better fighters in the division. Ancajas broke a 2-match losing streak, both losses came against Fernando Martinez, by taking down Wilner Soto in his last via fifth round TKO.
Ancajas will push Takuma Inoue, who will step into the ring with an 18-1 record. Inoue has fantastic boxing skills. But he doesn’t have much power, having finished his opponents before the final bell just 4 times in his 18 wins. Backing Ancajas to score the victory makes sense.

Alexandro Santiago vs Junto Nakatani
Boxing Lines: Alexandro Santiago +450; Junto Nakatani -850
WBC Bantamweight Title
Friday, February 24th, 2024
Tokyo, Japan
The +450 underdog is 28-3-5 with 14 stoppage wins. Santiago is on a 4-match winning streak. The dog impressed big time in his last, exiting the ring with a unanimous decision win over legend Nonito Donaire.
Junto Nakatani is 26-0 with 19 technical knockout or knockout victories. Nakatani doesn’t just his power to beat you. The undefeated favorite can also box. Santiago is going to have to really step it up to have any shot of stopping Junto. This one cold end early. So look for a knockout prop before backing the favorite on the moneyline.

Shakhram Giyasov vs Pablo Cesar Cano
Boxing Lines: Shakhram Giyasov O 6.5 -140; Pablo Cesar Cano U 6.5 +110
Friday, February 24th, 2024
Orlando DAZN
35-8-1 Pablo Cesar Cano has the ability to extend the fight past the 6.5 rounds. Not only that, but 14-0 Shakhram Giyasov has won his last 3 bouts via unanimous decision.
Still, there is a stat on Cano’s record that leads us to the conclusion that he might fall before the sixth round even starts. 50% of Cano’s bouts have ended via technical or straight up knockout. Before starting to win via unanimous decision, Giyasov had ended most of his opponents’ nights before the final bell. Shakhram goes back to his early round knockout ways.

Edgar Berlanga vs Padraig McCrory
Boxing Lines: Edgar Berlanga -500; Padraig McCrory +300
Friday, February 24th, 2024
Orlando DAZN
Padraig McCrory has a great 18-0 record. McCrory has won 9 of his bouts via stoppage. So McCrory is good enough to push Berlanga in this.
However, the -500 choice has a massive edge. Although Berlanga doesn’t knock out his opponents as easily as he did in the past, he’s 9 years younger than McCrory. 35 year old Padraig will fight his best. It just won’t be enough to beat Edgar Berlanga.

Guido Vianello vs Moses Johnson
Boxing Lines: Guido Vianello -650js Moses Johnson +375
Friday, February 16th, 2024
DAZN New York
Moses Johnson has a decent record, but Johnson hasn’t come close to fighting the competition he faces on Saturday night. Victories over boxers like Lemir Isom Riley and Emilio Salas doesn’t compare to stepping up against Guido Vianello.
The -650 favorite is 11-1-1 with 9 stoppage victories. Vianello should end this early. Look for a TKO or KO prop.

Bryan Chevalier vs Andres Cortes
Boxing Lines: Bryan Chevalier +350; Andres Cortes -600
Friday, February 16th, 2024
DAZN New York
Underdog Bryan Chevalier may offer overlay odds. Chevalier, a 29 year old from Puerto Rico, hasn’t lost since 20174 and boasts a stunning 20-1-1 record with 16 stoppage victories.
But Chevalier has fought exclusively in Puerto Rico. He hasn’t fought outside of his native nation, which is why Andres Cortes, who is 20-0 with 11 victories before the final bell, is the -600 chalk. Cortes wins this.

O’Shaquie Foster vs Abraham Nova
Boxing Lines: O’Shaquie Foster -850; Abraham Nova +450

Friday, February 16th, 2024
DAZN New York
Abraham Nova bounced back from his first loss, a fifth round knockout defeat against Robeisy Ramirez, by beating Adam Lopez via unanimous decision and knocking out then 35-1 Jonathan Romero in the third round.
However, this is a major step up in class. Champ O’Shaquie Foster is on an 11-match winning streak. Foster hasn’t lost since 2016. Not only that, but his 2 losses were via decision. 1 was via split-decision. Foster can knockout Nova.

Mauricio Lara vs Daniel Lugo
Boxing Lines: Mauricio Lara -900; Daniel Lugo +475
Friday, February 16th, 2024
DAZN Mexico
At first glance, Mauricio Lara easily wins this. Lara beat Leigh Wood via seventh round technical knockout in February 2023 before falling to Wood via unanimous decision later last year.
Wood is one of the better boxers in the division. So Lara for sure should be the favorite. But this sets up for a Daniel Lugo win.
Lugo is similar to Lara in that they are both Mexican and have fought primarily in Mexico. Lugo boasts a 23-2 record and is on a 3-match winning streak. The dog bites.

Boxing Lines: Adrian Curiel -160; Sivenathi Nontshinga +130

Although Sivenathi Nontshinga was 12-0 with 9 stoppage wins before taking on Adrian Curiel in the last, the odds make the underdog an underlay.
Curiel dominated the first fight, ending Sivenathi’s night in the second round. Nontshinga is going to to have make fundamental changes in this bout if he hopes to have any shot of beating Curiel.
It takes a lot for a boxer to change their style. Curiel is 24-4-1 and showed power agianst Nontshinga. Give the chalk the nod.

Ishmael Ellis has much more experience than Cameron Vuong. Ellis heads into the ring with a 14-7 record. 3 of Ellis’ losses have come via knockout or technical knockout.
Ellis has never won a bout via stoppage, which might explain why although Cameron Vuong is just 3-0 with 2 stoppage wins, he’s the big time -2500 favorite. Vuong should have no trouble winning this bout. If you see a knockout prop, go for it.

Craig Richards has lost 2 of his last 3 bouts. Both losses came via decision. One of the losses was to Dmitry Bivol back in 2021. For sure, Richards has a decent chin.
Boris Crighton is 12-4 with 7 stoppage wins. Like Richards, Crighton has lost 2-of-3. Like Richards, Crighton’s losses have happened via decision. This goes to the scorecards, which means over is the play.

The +128 choice has a sparkling 13-0-1 record. Dillon has terrific boxing skills. But he appears to lack the killer instinct required to knock out a fighter of Reece Bellotti’s level. Dillon shows only 3 stoppage wins among the 13.
Bellotti is 17-5 with a couple of knockout losses. Bellotti is on a 3-match winning streak since the losses. What to like about Reece is that he goes for it, scoring 14 stoppage wins in 17 victories. Bellotti’s power should be too much for Dillon to handle.

Noakes versus Lewis Sylvester should be an entertaining bout. Neither fighter has suffered a loss. Noakes is an awesome 12-0 with 12 stoppage wins.
Sylvester has gone 13-0. Sylvester, though, lacks major power, stopping just 4 of his opponents before the final bell. This should the toughest fight of Sylvester’s career. Don’t be surprised when Noakes ends Sylvester’s night before the eighth.

Williams is one the United Kingdom’s most popular pugilists. The veteran boxer has an excellent 25-4-1 record with 20 stoppage victories. Every time Williams fights, he fights to win, which is Liam could be in trouble on Saturday night.
Hamzah Sheeraz is 18-0 with 14 stoppage wins. Sheeraz is just 24, which means he’s got youth on his side. The -526 favorite should keep the good times rolling in this. Sheeraz could hand Williams the second KO defeat of Liam’s career. Look for a prop if you don’t want to settle on the moneyline.

Previous Betting News
On Saturday, one of the top up and coming welterweights in boxing heads from his native United Kingdom to Las Vegas to take on Peter Dobson in the main event on DAZN’s Saturday night boxing card.
Conor Benn is a massive favorite to beat Dobson, which is why we handicap the over/under rounds total. We also handicap the rounds total when Austin Williams takes on Connor Coyle in the fight right before Benn versus Dobson.

Adam Azim vs Enock Poulsen
Boxing Lines: Adam Azim U 7.5 -125; Enock Poulsen O 7.5 -105
Saturday, February 3rd, 2024
DAZN United Kingdom, London, England
Enock Poulsen boasts a nice 14-0 record. Poulsen has stopped 5 of his opponents before the final bell, which means he has some power. The problem, and the reason we can’t back Azim on the moneyline, is that Poulsen has fought exclusively in Denmark where boxing gyms are almost nonexistent.
Azim is 10-0 with 7 stoppage victories. Azim should win this no problem. So the bet to make is over or under the total rounds. Because Poulsen hasn’t had fighting experience outside of Denmark, it’s not likely he’s tasted anything close to Azim’s power. Under is the call.

Dan Azeez vs Joshua Buatsi
British Light Heavyweight Title
Boxing Lines: Dan Azeez +275; Joshua Buatsi -425
Saturday, February 3rd, 2024
DAZN United Kingdom, London, England
20-0 Dan Azeez has knocked out 13 of his opponents. Based on the record, Azeez is an overlay at +275. However, we can’t overlook the fact that Azeez is 33 years old.
Joshua Buatsi is younger, Buatsi is 30, and appears to have more power. Of his 17 wins, Buatsi has stopped 13 of his opponents before the final bell. In his last two fights, Buatsi has scored unaninimous decision victories, which tells us he’s added boxing to his repertoire. The favorite takes this.

Boxing Lines: Khalil Coe -500; Juan Gerardo Osuna +300

DAZN Boxing, Las Vegas, Nevada
7-0-1 Kahlil Coe is the chalk because he’s built a 7-0-01 record with 5 stoppage wins. On Saturday, though, Coe could be in for a rude awakening.
Juan Gerardo Osuna has a fantastic 20-0 record. 18 of Osuna’s 20 wins came before they headed to the scorecards. Osuna also has a 1.5 inches height advantage and because he’s fought primarily in Mexico, Osuna should have excellent inside skills. Give the 3-to-1 shot a chance.

Austin Williams vs Armel Mbumba-Yassa
Boxing Lines: Austin Williams U 4.5 -135; Armel Mbumba-Yassa O 4.5 +105
Saturday, February 3rd, 2024
DAZN Boxing, Las Vegas, Nevada
No doubt, Williams, who is 15-0 with 10 stoppage wins, takes home the victory. Austin faces a tough customer in Armel Mbumba-Yassa, but Mbumba-Yassa hasn’t come close to this level of competition.
The massive underdog in this has fought in Germany. No doubt, his foray into the U.S. is going to be a losing effort. Based on Mbumba-Yassa’s 10-0 with 7 knockouts, he has one of fighting, going right after his opponents. That won’t work with Williams, who will step to the side and counter Mbumba-Yassa’s punches with powerful shots. Under is the play.

Peter Dobson boasts a nice 16-0 record. Dobson has knocked out 9 of his opponents. But Dobson is 33 and takes on one of the top welterweights in the world.
Unlike many UK fighters, Conor Benn likes to go home early. Benn doesn’t box to win decisions. Instead, he likes to get his opponents into trouble and finish the job.
Benn has built a 22-0 record with 14 KO wins. He should have no trouble ending Dobson’s night early. Expect Benn to send Dobson to the locker room before the eighth.

UEFA Champions League: Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich
Sunday, August 23 | Check the UEFA Odds
The real soccer match happens earlier in the day. Paris Saint-Germain battles Bayern Munich for the 2020 Champions League trophy.
PSG dominated RB-Leipzig 3-0 this past Tuesday. That’s nothing compared to what Bayern has done. Since the Champions League knockout stage resumed a couple of weeks ago, Bayern blasted Chelsea 4-1, forced Barcelona to fire manager Quique Setien after dominating Messi’s squad 8-2, and put a 3-0 beating on Lyon.
But even though Bayern has rocked every team they’ve faced, odds makers don’t expect a blowout Bundesliga champ victory.
Right now, Bayern is at +105 while Neymar led Paris-Saint Germain is +230. The draw is +285.
Once MyBookie sets odds, make sure to handicap this one. It should be one of the more entertaining sporting events this weekend.
Also, don’t forget that the game happens at 3:00 pm ET. That’s 12:00 pm pacific time.

Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week – February 19th Edition
Previous Betting News
The start of another week means that we have another big selection of boxing betting picks to look forward to over the next few days. We have 4 fights to talk about this coming week, all of which you can easily find on TV. We will provide all the details, including the latest boxing odds, when we preview each of these 4 fights. There is no need to wait until the weekend for your fighting fix this week, as things get rolling with a title fight on Thursday night, which is the one that we will look at first.
Victor Terrazas vs. Joseph Diaz
This is a 10-round fight for the WBO NABO featherweight title, and it can be seen on ESPN 2 on Thursday night at 10 PM EST. At just 25 years of age, Diaz is entering the prime fighting years of his career, and he is doing so with an unbeaten 25-0 record, with 13 of those wins coming via KO.
While this is a young man that can flash some power, he can also go the distance, which he has had to do in each of his last 3 fights. This is a comeback of sorts for the 35-year old Terrazas, as he has not had a fight since 2013. His career record is 38-4-2, with 21 wins via KO. He will certainly be no pushover, but I like Diaz to finish this one in the middle rounds.
Johnathan Gonzalez vs. Ricardo Rodriguez
This 10-round flyweight bout is set to go on Friday night in Kissimmee, Florida at 10 PM EST, and it can be seen live on Telemundo. Rodriguez is coming into this fight having lost back to back bouts, the latest of which came last October in the bantamweight division.
He has a career record of 16-5, with just 5 KO wins, which suggests he will need to go the distance to win. Gonzalez is 19-2, with 12 of his wins coming by KO, so a drastic difference in power between these two fighters. I think the losing streak continues for Rodriguez in this one.
Juan Francisco Estrada vs. Wisaksil Wangek
This one is set to go on Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California, and it can be seen live on HBO at 9 PM EST. What we have here is a WBC Super Flyweight title fight, which promises to be a good one. Estrada is the holder of the WBA and WBO crowns at this weight class, with his most recent win coming via unanimous decision last September.
Estrada is now 36-2 with 25 KO wins in his career. Wangek is a veteran fighter out of Thailand who comes into this bout with a 44-4-1 career record, which includes a dazzling 40 KO wins. Wangek won and defended this title last year, and I think he will do so again in this one.
Brian Viloria vs. Artem Dalakian
This fight for the vacant WBA Super Flyweight title can be found on the same card as the Estrada/Wangek fight, which should make for a very entertaining evening of boxing on Friday. Viloria is the more experienced of the two fighters, coming into this one with a 38-5 record that includes 23 KO wins.
He was knocked out in the 9th round by Roman Gonzalez in a WBC Flyweight title bout last time out. Dalakian comes in with an unbeaten record at 15-0, with 11 of those victories coming by KO. Given the power that these two men can flash, I don’t see this going the full 12 rounds. I’m taking Viloria to win.
