ATP Betting Odds for 2024 Miami Open: Fourth-Round Betting Analysis

The third round of the Miami Open, an ATP 1000 Masters event, is almost over and several of the fourth-round matches are set. It has been a wild tournament with three of the top-10 seeds already eliminated and just 15 of the top-32 players still in contention.

Let’s take a look at the most notable upsets through the first few rounds and the updated ATP betting odds for the tournament.

2023 ATP Winner: Daniil Medvedev

Miami Open First Week Recap

Rublev, the world No. 6, was the highest-ranking player to be eliminated in the first week at the Miami Open. Czech player Tomas Machac beat Rublev 6-4, 6-4 and followed that up with a win over veteran Andy Murray to advance to the fourth round. Sixth seed and world No. 7 Holger Rune is also out of the tournament. Fabian Marozsan beat Rune 6-1, 6-1.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Ugo Humbert, and Frances Tiafoe were among the other notable players eliminated in the second round. Fritz and Paul have both won titles this season in the United States, while Humbert won in Dubai.

Fourth-Round Matches

Tomas Machac (-150) vs. Matteo Arnaldi (+110)

Machac and Arnaldi meet in one of the most unlikely fourth-round matches in Miami. Machac has beaten two quality opponents in Rublev and Murray and will almost certainly improve upon his current career-best ranking of No. 60 after this tournament. Arnaldi, meanwhile, beat 17th seed Alexander Bublik in the second round and followed that up with a two-set win over Denis Shapovalov. Machac is 1-0 in his career against Arnaldi, beating him 6-0, 6-1 in Dubai last year. He should keep rolling against Arnaldi.

Casper Ruud (-280) vs. Nicolas Jarry (+180)

Ruud, the seventh seed, survived a second-round scare against Luca Van Assche, winning 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-1. He then beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-4 in the third round. Jarry, meanwhile, is into the fourth round after three-set victories over Jack Draper and Thiago Seyboth Wild. He has gone to tiebreakers in three of the six sets he played in Miami. Ruud is 2-1 against Jarry and beat him on hard courts in the Korea Open in 2022. He has also spent about three fewer hours on court than Jarry.

2024 Miami Open Final Prediction

While there have been a few upsets, the cream of the crop is still in contention in Miami, including defending champion Daniil Medvedev and top two seeds Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz and Sinner are on opposite halves of the bracket and are favorites to meet in the final, which is a likely outcome. Sinner should cruise through his fourth-round opponent Christopher O’Connell and has a favorable path to the final, while Alcaraz looks to be finding his game after winning at Indian Wells last week. We could be in a new era of tennis with how dominant these players can potentially be.

2023 ATP 1000 Miami Open Odds, Picks, and Tennis Betting Analysis

Previous Betting News

For the second tournament in a row, the ATP Tour is in the United States for a Masters 1000 event. After a run in Indiana Wells, California, the players head across the country to Miami, Florida, for a 12-day event.

This year’s event is the 38th edition of the Miami Open, and it takes place at Hard Rock Stadium, home to the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Six-time champion Novak Djokovic is not in the draw as he is unvaccinated and not allowed to enter the United States. Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who won last week at Indian Wells, is the No. 1 seed.

Let’s take a look at the ATP odds for the Miami Open and some of the first-round odds at MyBookie.

ATP 1000 Miami Open Odds, Picks, and Tennis Betting Analysis

Miami Open Presented by Itau Tournament Info | Updated ATP Odds
Category: ATP Masters 1000 / WTA 1000
When: March 21 – April 2, 2023
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida, USA
Champions: Men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles action

Alcaraz Favorite at the Miami Open

Alcaraz won at Indian Wells, his second win in three tournaments. He also ended the 19-match winning streak of Daniil Medvedev convincingly, with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the final. As the top seed, Alcaraz is the favorite to win in Miami at +200.

His draw could be more challenging this week with two-time Miami champion Andy Murray and seeded Americans Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz in his half of the draw. The good news is that the other hot players, Medvedev and Jannik Sinner, are in the bottom half of the draw with No. 2 Stefanos Tsitsipas.

A win in this event cements Alcaraz as the No. 1 player in the world as he can pick up 1000 points plus a check over $1 million. After the Miami Open, the tour turns to the clay court season in a sprint to the French Open, and Alcaraz will be among the favorites in every event he enters leading into Roland Garros.

Medvedev With a Chance to Get Even

Medvedev was on a fantastic run, winning 19 matches in a row before the Sunday loss to Alcaraz. In that stretch, he won a pair of tournaments and handed Djokovic his first loss of 2023 at Doha.

Medvedev is +250 to win in Miami and the only other player with ATP odds better than +1000. He is seeded No. 4 and likely won’t face a challenge until the quarterfinals. In that round, he could face 2021 champion Hubert Hurkacz or Cameron Norrie, with Tsitsipas, a possible semifinal opponent.

First Round Matchups

There are a handful of great first-round matchups to look at for Wednesday and Thursday in the round of 128. The 32 seeded players all have byes into the round of 64, but that leaves 32 matches playing on the opening days of the men’s event.

American J.J. Wolf is -140 to move into the second round and face No. 6 seed Andrey Rublev. In the first round, he faces Alexander Bublik, who is a +110 underdog. Take Wolf to advance as he holds a 2-0 record against Bublik, and the Russian has struggled this season with a 4-11 record to Wolf’s 9-6.

Daniel Taro hit the courts early on Wednesday and got a great draw to move into the round of 64. Taro is -155 to beat Arthur Rinderknech, who is +136 as an underdog. Taro should make quick work of the Frenchman, who is only 2-6 in ATP events so far this season.

ATP 2022 Miami Open Betting Update: Cerundolo Advances, Zverev Out

Previous Betting News

The ATP 1000 Miami Open was filled with upsets, exciting moments, and unexpected results, and those didn’t stop as we entered the tournament’s final stages.

Here we will take a look at some of the most memorable moments in Miami as the final remaining tennis players take one step closer to the coveted trophy. Let’s jump right into action so you can keep betting against the ATP Odds.

Miami Open Presented by Itau Update | ATP Betting Analysis

Cerundolo Secures SF, After Sinner Retires

Francisco Cerundolo advanced into the Miami Open semi-finals on Wednesday after Italian Jannik Sinner was forced to retire due to foot blisters. But even though Cerundolo was handed a walkover, the Argentine player had shown enough, leading 4-1 in the first set, before Sinner called the match after just 23 minutes.

Not many expected Cerundolo to make it this far, though. The world no.103 held a 0-2 hard-court record before Miami Open but has now fought his way into the semi-finals of an ATP Masters 1000 tournament for the first time in his career.

Ranked outside of the top-100, Cerundolo has also written history by making it past Sinner, as he is now the lowest-ranked men’s singles semifinalist in tournament history. Moreover, he is the first player since Jerzy Janowicz (at Rolex Paris Masters in 2012) to reach the semi-finals in his Masters 1000 debut.

Prior to beating Sinner, Cerundolo has already earned solid victories against Tallon Griekspoor, Reilly Opelka, Gael Monfils, and Frances Tiafoe en route to the Miami Open quarter-finals.

“I didn’t know anything,” Cerundolo said. “When I was serving at 3-1, 30/0, I saw him bending down. It was really strange. I didn’t see anything wrong, and I hope he is ok; he is a great player.”

Cerundolo will now face off against Casper Ruud, who defeated Alexander Zverev by 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 on Wednesday.

Ruud Beats Zverev On His Third Attempt

The third time was the charm for Casper Ruud, who finally secured a head-to-head victory against Alexander Zverev on Wednesday, securing his spot in the Miami Open semi-finals.

The Norwegian won against Zverev with 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, and is now set to face off against the surprise semifinalist, Cerundolo, who secured a walkover victory against Sinner. And not only did Ruud’s success mark his first H2H win against Zverev, but the Norwegian tennis star has, with that victory, secured his spot in his first Masters 1000 semi-finals.

“It feels good, and it means a lot. This is my first semi-final in a Masters 1000 on hard courts, so that’s a good feeling. I’m very happy to do it here in Miami,” said Ruud.

“I’ve felt good the couple weeks I’ve been here practising, and the matches have felt very good. I want to of course, keep going. Today was my toughest challenge yet of the tournament, and on Friday will be another big one.”

Interestingly, Ruud has lost his first three Masters 1000 QFs on this surface, which included two against Zverev, who beat him twice last year without letting Ruud score a single set. But that didn’t stop Ruud from clawing his way past the German for his fifth top-10 victory (5-15).

The 23-year-old has now been given a big opportunity to make the finals, as he faces off against world no-103, Cerundolo, who had never before competed at Masters 1000 event. Moreover, this will be Ruud’s first H2H with Cerundolo.

Ruud is currently priced as the heavy favorite to defeat Cerundolo, who will enter Friday’s match as a +400 underdog. And if the online ATP betting odds are to be trusted, Ruud should be set to make his first ATP Masters 1000 finals of his career.

Previous Betting News

The 2022 Miami Open, the second part of the Sunshine Double, is set to kick off on Monday, March 21, with the opening qualifying matches, followed by the first round of the Main Draw on Wednesday, March 23.

With only a few days separating us from one of the most exciting and well-known tennis tournaments on the schedule, it’s time to look at what should happen in sunny Miami, Florida so you can get ready to bet against the ATP Odds.

2022 Miami Open presented by Itau Expert Analysis | Tennis Betting

2022 Miami Open

The Miami Open is the second tournament of the “Sunshine Double” (the first being Indian Wells) and one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments – that is not a Grand Slam. Entering its 37th edition, Miami Open has been held as a staple of both the ATP and WTA tours since 1985 and often welcomes some of the best tennis players in the world, and this year is no exception.

The singles bracket for men and women features 96 players, which is a huge jump from the usual 64-man/woman field in smaller events.

Moreover, the Miami Open marks the beginning of the Tour Master 100 for men, whereas it’s the third Masters 100 even for the women’s WTA 1000.

The field will miss some big names this year, most notably Rafael Nadal, who announced he would not travel to Florida. He noted that he believes transitioning to clay courts could be dangerous coming straight from the hard courts (Miami Open) and instead chose to skip the event and focus on the upcoming competitions.

Joining Nadal on the list of absences is Novak Djokovic, who is not allowed to enter the United States due to his unvaccinated status. That’s an unfortunate situation knowing that the Serbian would likely be the main favorite to defeat given his past success here (six titles).

The women’s bracket will miss the top-rated Ash Barty, who decided to skip the Sunshine Double entirely, citing she needs time to rest after her success in Australia. Like Djokovic, Barty would likely be the one to beat, having won the Miami Open back-to-back in 2019 and 2021.

Player To Watch – Daniil Medvedev

With Nadal and Djokovic out of the competition, the field will be slightly weaker, but there’s still plenty of talent to look out for.

Daniil Medvedev had a terrible showing at Indian Wells, where he got eliminated in R3, effectively losing his no.1 rating. For some, Medvedev’s terrible showing last week could be a sign to avoid betting on him, but for us, this is a chance to place a wager on him at much better odds.

Yes, he hasn’t been excellent this season, but his hard-court record across the last 12 months is phenomenal. Since March 2021, Medvedev is 54-11 on this surface and has won three hard-court tournaments, including Open 13 Provence, the ATP Masters 1000, and the US Open.

Does his past success guarantee him success next week? No. But with such numbers, it’s very hard to look past Medvedev, especially knowing that we might get juicier odds on him due to his iffy showing at Indian Wells.

Moreover, Medvedev has done well at Miami Open in the past. He first appeared at the tournament in 2018, when he could only manage R2, and improved upon that in 2019, when Medved reached R4.

In his third and most recent trip to the Hard Rock Stadium in 2021, Medvedev reached the quarter-finals, when he lost against Bautista Agut (4-6, 2-6). SO while he has yet to make semis, Medvedev has shown incredible improvement since his last appearance at the Miami Open and is currently the best hard-court player in the field.

2021 Miami Open Expert Analysis – WTA Betting

Previous Betting News

With the 2021 Miami Open underway, it’s time to find the best value on Tuesday’s Day 2 WTA Tour docket. Two widely respected veterans kick things off on Tuesday when world No. 60 Alize Cornet takes on two-time slam winner and world No. 39 Svetlana Kuznetsova. World No. 59 Laura Siegemund takes on World No. 90 Christina McHale and last, but not least, legendary world No. 76 Venus Williams takes on world No. 86 Zarina Diyas.

Okay, with all of that said, let’s get to my trio of WTA Tour picks so you can bet against their Tennis odds.

2021 Miami Open – Tennis Betting Predictions

Alize Cornet Vs Svetlana Kuznetsova

WTA Odds: Alize Cornet +131 / Svetlana Kuznetsova -175

31-year-old veteran Alize Cornet is 4-6 on the year. The native of France took out Daria Kasatinka in three sets in her first round match in Dubai before falling to Aryna Sabalenka 2-6, 4-6 in the second round. 35-year-old Svetlana Kuznetsova is 5-5 on the year. The two-time Russian slam winner went 2-1 n St. Petersburg but comes into this match off a three-set loss against Kasatinka in her last match. These two veterans have split six career meetings with Kuzy winning 6-3, 6-3 the last time they met at the Wuhan Open in 2017. The fact of the matter is that this matchup could go either way. However, I like Cornet to get it done because she’s the young player – and the value-packed underdog. This will likely be a three-set thriller.

Pick: Alize Cornet in 3 Sets

Laura Siegemund Vs Christina McHale

WTA Odds: Christina McHale +216 / Laura Siegemund -303

Christina McHale is a dismal 1-5 on the year. She’s lost two straight matches including a 4-6, 1-6 loss against Anastasija Savastova at Adelaide in her last match. Laura Siegemund is 6-6 on the year. She’s also dropped two straight including a 3-6, 2-6 defeat against Anastasia Potapova in Dubai the last time out.

These two have never met, but Laura Siegemund is the pick for me here. Christina McHale is only 28-years-old while Siegemund in 33-years-old, but the veteran maximizes her chances to win while McHale often doesn’t have a game plan despite being the owner of bigger weapons in this pairing. Keep it simple here.

Pick: Laura Siegemund in 3 Sets

Zarina Diyas Vs Venus Williams

WTA Odds: Zarina Diyas +110 / Venus Williams -144

Zarina Diyas is 4-3 on the year The 27-year-old Kazakhstan native won two matches in Melbourne before falling to Bianca Andreescu via retirement in her last match. Venus Williams is 2-2 on the year. The 40-year-old, 10-time slam winner beat Kirsten Flipkens in Melbourne in her opener before loosing to veteran Sara Errani 6-10, 6-0 in her second round match.

Williams is 1-0 in her career against Diyas, winning 7-6 (8), 6-4 at the Western&Southern Open in Cincinnati in 2015. I’m going with Williams to get it done again in a matchup that features two players returning from injury. Williams has the bigger and more dangerous weapons in this matchup and she will be hungry!

Pick: Venus Williams in 3 Sets

2018 ATP & WTA Miami Open Betting & Predictions

Previous Betting News

If we are being honest, there aren’t that many tennis tournaments outside of the four majors to get all that excited about during the long season. However, one of the marquee events outside of the Grand Slams is the Miami Open as it hosts both the men and the women in glamorous South Florida. Let’s dive into the 2018 Miami Open betting preview on both the men’s and women’s side, with the event starting Monday, and of course, you can check the most recent tennis odds for every match.

2018 ATP & WTA Miami Open Betting Preview & Predictions

A Little Bit of History

The Miami Open is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event. Other than the four Slams, the Miami Open is one of the few events on the ATP and WTA tours where the main singles draw on both sides involves more than 64 players, and where main draw play extends beyond one week. In 2006, the tournament became the first event in the United States to use Hawk-Eye to allow players to challenge close line calls. It’s also a rare event where both the men and women play best of three sets. Most tournaments feature best of five for the men. The last best of five set final was won by Roger Federer in 2006.

This is the last year that the Miami Open is played at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, where it has enjoyed a 32-year run. The event will be moving to Hard Rock Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dolphins, starting in 2019. The new Miami Open will have 30 show and practice courts. The centerpiece of the move will be a new Center Court, which will showcase a 14,000-seat stadium within Hard Rock Stadium.

2018 Miami Open Betting Favorites

ATP

Federer is the betting favorite and also the defending champion, winning for the third time in 2017. He beat long-time rival Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-4. In the second set, Nadal claimed two of the first three games. After more back-and-forth play, Nadal took the seventh game to go up 4-3. Federer answered with three straight victories again to take the set and the match. Nadal dropped to 0-5 in the finals of the tournament, and his 13 appearances in Miami are the most without winning the title. Incidentally, the first-ever Nadal-Federer match was in Miami. In 2004, a 17-year-old Nadal beat the 22-year-old Federer in their first contest.

Federer, as top seed this year in Miami, will earn a bye in the first round. Marin Cilic is the second seed. Nadal isn’t playing this year. He hasn’t since exiting the Australian Open with a hip injury. The Spaniard has also had to withdraw from the Acapulco Open and Indian Wells. He’s trying to get 100 percent for the clay-court season; he’s the greatest clay court player ever and favored to win yet another French Open title in May. Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka are also out injured.

Roger, who has won a record 20 Grand Slam titles, will once again be up against a stacked field in Key Biscayne. The Miami Open is mandatory for the top players on the ATP and WTA tours unless they are injured or meet specific criteria about the number of tournaments or Grand Slam victories. Also in the field are former No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Juan Martin del Potro. Djokovic has won this tournament a record six times, most recently in 2016.

Federer has reached an amazing 147 finals on the ATP Tour overall. He just passed Ivan Lendl for the second place on the list with the most ATP finals in the Open era. Jimmy Connors is the leader with 164. Connors also holds the record with 109 overall titles. Both those records should fall no later than 2019 as long as Federer stays healthy.

Rod Laver and Djokovic are the only two men ever to achieve the feat of reaching every Grand Slam final, with Federer having only been denied a Calendar Grand Slam — the achievement of winning all four titles in one year — by Nadal, losing in the French Open final. Federer has only won the French once.

WTA

On the women’s side, Serena Williams, who has won a record eight Miami Open singles titles, was granted a wildcard into the 2018 tournament. Following her Open Era record 23rd career Grand Slam title at the 2017 Australian Open, Williams missed the remainder of the season while preparing for the birth of her daughter.

Serena has won the tournament a record eight times. The women’s side did lose Maria Sharapova as she pulled out Friday because of a left forearm injury. She’ll be replaced in the main draw by American Jennifer Brady.

Expert 2018 Miami Open Betting Predictions

I see no reason not to go chalk here and take Federer. He’s playing some of the best tennis of his career at 36. Serena will win again on the women’s side.

Previous Betting News

If you’re fired up for this week’s Miami Open Master’s Tournament and you want to know which players stand the best chance of hoisting this year’s championship hardware, then you’re in luck!

Thanks to the expert tennis betting predictions insight that you’re about to get, you’re going to have a great chance to cash in over the course of the Miami Open. Now, let’s get started.

2017 ATP Miami Open Betting Predictions

Event: ATP – Miami Open Date: Wednesday, March 22nd – Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 Location: Tennis Center at Crandon Park, Miami, FL

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic rolled to his third straight title and fourth in five years at Miami in 2016, but the World No. 2 is out of this year’s event with a bad elbow.

Andy Murray

The 2013 winner and current World No. 1 will also miss this year’s Miami Open because of an elbow issue.

Roger Federer

Not only did Federer stun the tennis world by winning the 2017 Australian Open to bag his 18th career major, but Fed also blew away the competition en route to the title at Indian Wells on Sunday. With Djokovic and Murray both out, Federer is the clear-cut favorite at Miami and will have a great opportunity to win his second straight Master’s 1000 event.

Stan Wawrinka

Wawrinka reached the finals at Indiana Wells but ended up on the wrong wide of the score when Federer took him out in straight sets. Still the Stanimal will have a shot in Miami.

Rafael Nadal

Nadal got blitzed by Federer in the fourth round of Indian Wells, but he will have a shot to make a decent run at Miami, although Rafa clearly isn’t as good on hard courts these days as he is on his favorite surface of clay.

Nick Kyrgios

The Aussie star has the potential to beat anyone in the world and has done so to Djokovic twice this season alone. While the fiery Nick Kyrgios had to pull out of his semifinal showdown against Roger Federer at Indian Wells, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he won in Miami.

Jack Sock

Sock reached the quarterfinals before falling to Federer, but he has a blossoming game that features a huge serves and an even bigger forehand.

Dominic Thiem, Mari Cilic, Kei Nishikori, Juan Martin Del Potro and Milos Raonic should all have decent chances to bag this title, but my pick is going to Kyrgios first and foremost, Thiem and 19-year-old superstar Alexander Zverev.

2017 WTA Miami Open Betting Predictions

Previous Betting News

With world No. 2 Serena Williams and former grand slam champion Victoria Azarenka both out of the 2017 Miami Open, the field is wide open to crown a champion not named Williams or Azarenka for the first time in four years. Maria Sharapova still hasn’t returned from her PED suspension while two-time slam winner Petra Kvitova is still out after being attacked in her home in the offseason.

However, 2017 Indian Wells winner Elena Vesnina and runner-up Svetlana Kuznetsova will clearly both have decent shots to bag this title as will World No. 1 Angelique Kerber, World No.3 Karolina Pliskova and world No. 4 Dominika Cibulkova among others. Now, let’s find out who the likely winner is as well as some of the latest tennis betting picks.

2017 WTA Miami Open Betting Predictions

Event: ATP – Miami Open
Date: Tuesday, March 21st – Sunday, April 2nd, 2017
Location: Tennis Center at Crandon Park, Miami, FL

Last Five Winners

WTA Odds to Win 2017 Miami Open

Analysis: Angelique Kerber is finding out that it’s a lot harder to hold on to the World No. 1 ranking than it is to actually get it. Kerber is 9-6 on the year and isn’t the pick to win in Miami. Svetlana Kuznetsova has been resurgent in reaching the finals at Indian Wells and the round of 16 at the Aussie Open. I’m thinking the Russian superstar is a real threat on Miami’s slower hard courts.

Agnieszka Radwanska was the last winner here in Miami not named Williams or Azarenka, but she’s been smacked around at four straight tournaments after reaching the final in Sydney. I like Venus Williams, Elena Vesnina and Kristina Mladenovic as dark horse picks to upset the entire field.

Karolina Pliskova is 19-3 on the year and is my pick to win the 2017 Miami Open thanks to her huge serve and solid footwork. Pliskova reached the semis at Indian Wells and won at Doha and Brisbane while reaching the quarters at the Australian Open.
